Re: Bryan Fuller and NBC to reboot/remake The Munsters

After watching it entirely I wasn't impressed. Too uneven I'd like to know more about their backstory. When Grandpa gave them cookies with a D on it I thought it stood for Devil which seemed far more interesting than Dracula. Cheyenne Jackson would have been better cast as Herman than the scout leader.

I didn't think it was too bad. But Jerry O'Connell played Jerry O'Connell.

I read that Colin Ferguson or David Tennant was their first choice.
What about Brad Garrett?

Re: Bryan Fuller and NBC to reboot/remake The Munsters

The ratings for this are actually not bad for a Friday, but probably not enough to salvage the show.

1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall. It's the best numbers in that slot in two years for NBC (not including sports).

But Grimm did a 1.9, marking its second best Friday rating ever. So maybe NBC would see that and say the two shows pair well together. But the reality is that Fuller is busy with the Hannibal series right now, and Mockingbird Lane wouldn't possibly return until Fall 2013 at the earliest. The numbers the show got were inflated by curious viewers, and if the show went forward it likely wouldn't fare that well.

I hope it comes back, but I'm not holding my breath.

if this show couldn't draw better numbers a few days before Halloween, with arguably the largest budget for an episode that it will ever have, it never will.

still not completely sold on remaking the old series, but if this gets picked up I'll give it a shot

Well, this was...interesting.

For a dark comedy, it didn't really have much bite to it. I also think Herman and Lily were miscast.

The set designs were terrific, though. It was enjoyable enough that I'd give it a chance if it went to series.

As a modern day macabre comedy, I thought it was quite well done. I think the creators were in a lose-lose scenario: do a note for note copy of the original and be acccused of lacking originality; or, making their own version and being accused of not making a carbon copy of the original. I'd love to see more.

I think everyone was miscast. Also since when do vampires have goat legs?

I watched it and loved it!
Good cgi.
The actors who play Eddie and Marylin are better than the original.

Re: Bryan Fuller and NBC to reboot/remake The Munsters

Enjoyed it quite a bit. When I heard they were remaking this series, I thought it was a terrible idea. Bryan Fuller was the only thing that got me interested and he just doesn't do much wrong in my book. Jerry O'Connell was OK but Colin Ferguson would have been SO much better. The only one that bugged me and felt totally miscast was Eddie Izzard. I think he's a brilliant comic but I have pretty much hated his acting in everything I've seen him in. I hope it gets at least one season.

With that cast, the show was probably too expensive for NBC in the first place.

But as mentioned, it was also really expensive to produce. Says more about the programming that has come before on that "network".

I loved this reboot. It's a shame it'll never be a series.

It aired once on TV and was taken down over a year ago from Hulu. Why do you want to see it? The project is dead.

No free streaming options, can be purchased through Google Play and iTunes. Good news is its considered TV so cheap to own, bad news is no more coming.

Morbid curiosity. I totally forgot about it and then remembered when I watched the original pilot for the original show when Joan Richardson played Phoebe Munster before they got rid her for Yvonne de Carlo.

And? Can't a guy just enjoy something for an hour? You know, like a short film?
