Just in case the constant, scorching red V during Lost wasn't enough...I also got to see it during the dark parts of the commercials, too.

ABC...I thank you and my plasma thanks you.

My favorite part. This season is building and building. I'm ready to see some more confrontations involving Locke, specifically with Jack. I'm also leaning towards Jack being the one that ends up defeating Locke.

You can see that Locke's intent is to gather all of the candidates and anyone else who poses a threat and off them. Widmore refers to him as myth, smoke and noises in the jungle and none of those are really good. I figure that these people he wants to off in one fell swoop are the last roadblock from him leaving the island. The kicker will be is that he will have to manipulate someone else to actually be the one to off the rest whether it be knowingly or unknowingly. Then he will be free to move about the country with a free plane ticket. We can guess that his plan will ultimately fail based on what we saw at the begininng of the season. I have a sense to not trust him as we have seen him blatantly lie over and over again to achieve his means. Jacob may not be forthcoming either but he really hasn't been deceitful in his ultimate purpose not even to the MIB himself.

upon re-watching the episode today, I mentioned to my girlfriend that it looks like she had a body double in that scene. Funny that it was just mentioned here as well.

Anyone else notice that Jack's conversation with Sun ("we'll find Jin and we'll all get out of here together") parallels the conversation Sawyer had with Jin a couple of weeks back ("I'll help you find Sun and we'll all get out of here together")?

Not sure what to make of it, but it does seem to reinforce a dualism between Jack and Sawyer, which is consistent with the various dualities that have existed throughout the show (male/female, light/dark, etc.).

I just feel that the main point of the show (atleast it has turned towards this way in the last season or so), is that Jacob is going to prove the MIB wrong about humans.

I feel the MIB will be stuck on the island because the humans (which MIB has always seen as weak), will ultimately stand up to prevent the evil from leaving the island, even if they are each promised whatever they desire most (Sun is a good example of this in last nights episode, and she showed the MIB that she doesn't trust what "Locke" is saying to her).

Even if it means that Jacob, and most of the humans are killed, they will at least be on the team that is going to win, and succeed in preventing the evil from being freed into the world.

I think you're pretty much exactly right here. This makes a lot more sense and would be more natural to the series than most of the wilder theories that are floating around. And I think that the title of the next-to-last (?) episode,
Spoiler:
What They Died For
backs up that theory.

Me too, but those I was viewing it with thought he said, ""Gonna strap you in here in case you figure out what happened to him." not "the island."

While I still hear "the island," "to him" makes more sense.

I stay away from episode titles to prevent spoilers.....but as I reply to this thread, I now see what it says inside the [spoiler] icons since it is not hidden.....dammit. Anyways thanks for agreeing, and that artwork is pretty awesome.

Nope. All TV I watch is via a DVR, so I zip past all the commercials.

Based on that intel I should then politely retract my "baby smoking a joint" pic, but it cracks me up too much...

Just watching the replay on abc's site since I missed the first 5 or so minutes last night. I just realized that in the flash sideways Sun's name is Paik, so could this mean the Jin is the Kwon written on the wall of the cave? I bet Sun isn't the one either side needs.

I totally agree, but seeing how this show has "borrowed" from so many things in the past, one does wonder.

I'm surprised to hear you think it's complex, considering how complex and baffling the real answer is bound to be :)

Yeah, I think that was the reason for banging us over the head with that. the Kwon is Jin and not Sun.

Ooooh... good call.

That reminds me, in all timelines and on the island(at least early on), Jin won't let Sun unbutton the topmost button of her blouses yet when Keamy shows up to their hotel room he has her go answer the door in her négligé? Maybe a peace offering for losing the 25 grand?

So everybody has had a sideways at this point right? I would think we're going to be done with the them at this point thanks to Desmond.

It might also be because Sun (allegedly) has tits and none of the remaining candidates do.

I'm still not convinced that Jeon isn't the Kwon mentioned and that the bait & switch about Jin needing to see "The Package" and then the reveal of Desmond being involved wasn't intentional.

Maybe I'm thick, but why go through the trouble of showing Jin all these pictures of Jeon and then finish with "let's show him the package" for it to NOT be his daughter? Of course, I realize that adding her to the mix this late in the game might be too convenient, but they also made a parallel point about Sun being pregnant in the alternate timeline just to get shot and presumably lose her baby.

Hurley hasn't, as far as I recall. He showed up in Locke's, but not his own.

That would mean that Jacob can see into the future and know that they would conceive on the island. I think that's a bit of a stretch.
