Re: Lost -- "Sundown" -- 03.02.10

I hit FF so much last night. I am getting tired of the show and just want it to be over already. Makes me sad since it was a must see show and I couldn't wait for the whole thing to be wrapped up.

So Sayid says “why would I do anything you tell me to do when you beat and tortured me?” and the other dude says “you said you were good so prove it” REALLY!? So basically all he did was dare him and then - sure I’ll go and stab someone for you. WTF!? And that guy almost killed Sayid without too much problem and then - throw me in some water and I can’t even fight back anymore. ? Really? You had a dang baseball in your hand. You could of at the very least tried to hit him with it.

And how can anyone care about the other timeline or whatever if they don't even tease us with what it is. All I am seeing is a bunch of crap that may or may not be happening and might just go away anyway, who knows, so it's wasting my time instead of showing us the storyline we've all come to see which is what is happening on the island.

This season is the worst and makes less sense than the rest and gives NO answers. And I've loved every season until now. They have no focus this season. It's all over the place and they keep pulling too much out of their butts (temple full of people, lighthouse, random timeline, etc.) while showing us the same old stuff. Kate's stupid, Sayid was a torturer and loved a woman that died but thinks he's not bad, Jack's a whiney mess, Hurley is cool but still fat on a island with no visible means to remain that fat...what new have we learned?

Just have to get that out. I'll still be watching to the end with a tiny bit of hope for redemption.

I know Nadia died in Sayid's arms in the sideways timeline after she was hit by the car, but did she also die in his arms pre-crash? If not, Shannon is an interesting idea...

We need an animated GIF of that.

No, Nadia died in the original timeline (Island Sayid's past).

Looking for Nadia > O815 > Crash > Island life > Shannon > Ana-Lucia shoots Shannon > Shannon dies in Sayid's arms > Become one of the O6 > Reunite with Nadia > Jacob intervenes saving Sayid and/or killing Nadia > Nadia dies in Sayid's arms > A316 > 1977 > Dharma > Nuke > Shot > Incident > Temple > Spring > Drown > Ressurect.

Give or take

Nice. I remember when Sayid was Ben's assassin-lackey, he first started because he was watching a funeral in Iraq (?) I thought that was Nadia too???

Yeah, I thought Nadia was killed by one of Widmore's lackeys, at least according to Ben. Wasn't that how he (Ben) lured Sayid into killing for him?

Yeah, but she was hit by a car, remember? It's the same scene.

Here's the relevant text from Lostpedia:

Their marriage came to an abrupt end, however, when she was killed in Los Angeles in late October 2005. She was hit by a car in a hit-and-run collision while Sayid was occupied with giving directions to a stranger. Her last words to Sayid before she died were "Take me home." ("The Incident, Part 1") Sayid was a pallbearer at her funeral in Tikrit, Iraq, five days later. ("The Shape of Things to Come")

Meeting Sayid at Nadia's funeral, Ben presented circumstantial evidence (a picture from a traffic camera) that identified Ishmael Bakir, an employee of Charles Widmore, as the killer. Believing Ben's story, Sayid followed and later killed Bakir in a fit of rage. Sayid, still bent on revenge for Nadia's death, came to work for Ben — tracking down other employees of Charles Widmore and assassinating them. ("The Shape of Things to Come") ("The Economist")

And even if Sayid is talking about Nadia, would Smokey neccessarily know that? Is Smokey as all knowing as Jacob?-- Does he know everything that's happened to our characters off-island? If Smokey was in the jungle watching Sayid's relationship with Shannon, he might assume she was the love of his life.
I can imagine a very interesting scene where Smokey "resurrects" the wrong woman, a mistake which might make Sayid snap out of whatever spell he's under.

Of course, this is all moot since Maggie Grace is apparently not coming back, but you never know...?

Mib got much stronger after Jacob died. There is no longer a counter balance for Mib. I think it would have worked if Jacob were alive.

Good episode.
I see what you are saying, but personally I was getting a little bit of the main villian in Gone in 60 Seconds when him and Nic Cage's character were battling in the end of that movie. It's probably just me though

Wait..so now we have to be mindful of other's lack of culture?

Lindelof and Cuse have actually confirmed one way or the other about Shannon:

This is sadly becoming one of my least favorite seasons of Lost. Almost everything at the temple is just cheesy. Claire's character is laughable and last night it made no sense that she's been dying to find out about her kid and basically blows off Kate after being told what happened. Still looking forward to seeing how all this ends.

Claire is getting totally manipulated. I'm not sure she believes Kate yet.
