According to rsanews, that episode won't air until September, so it'll be at least then until we see anything.

On a related note, Craig and the crew spent a week in Paris, and they'll be airing that stuff during the first week of August.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

According to the date I found on YouTube, the episode that introduced the "You ever been to...?" routine was 19 May, not 20 May. I didn't realize that even though episodes don't air until after midnight they're still considered part of the previous day's programming. Anyway, I found this on YouTube of that segment:

Hey, don't forget about the middle! Craigy Ferg starts here at 11:35pm.

The Paris Hilton segment was PAINFUL last night, btw. LOL. Craig was trying his best though.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Anyone know why Craigie's not hosting the Boston Pops 4th of July Show this year? I think he's been a great host the past couple of years. Instead we get...Michael Chiklis? Does he have a show on CBS this fall or something?

I almost got whiplash going from Paris Hilton to Neil Gaiman - the shift from going from somebody Craig obviously didn't care about and had to struggle to make seem remotely interesting to someone that Craig was insanely geeked out to finally meet (and talk about Doctor Who with!) was jarring.

There's another YouTube clip here with about 210k views, it must have gone somewhat viral.

I also just discovered that Josh Robert Thompson does Geoff. Apparently in addition to Geoff he's also done various bits on the show.

Paris was pretty lame, exactly as boring as she was last time. Even for a 'famous for being famous' celebrity she has a very flat personality.

Tatum O'Neal still looks hot.

Especially for someone who's done as much drugs as she has.

Craig was on Leno last night... If you didn't see it, you NEED to see this clip with him and Rose Byrne!

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Is this something weird only KEYE-Austin is doing, or is it normal? The last few weeks the opening theme has started directly after the monologue... and goes till just before the point where Craig sings "Tomorrow's just your future yesterday" (which is after the first commercial break), It's kinda abrupt.

Aha! So it's not just us! Yeah, WLKY in Louisville has been doing this for the last couple of weeks off and on. I just assumed it was a local screw-up.

Great episode last night, with Mary McCormack & David Feherty, best episode I've seen in a while.

I've noticed this too. It kinda bothers me as well but I guess it's not a huge issue. Can't wait to see the Paris shows next week. Should be interesting to see Craig just interviewing people off the streets. I thought he was joking about that at first but seeing him on Letterman last night he seemed serious about it.

BTW, what the hell kind of accent does Jayma Mays have? I know that she mentioned time in England, but she has the most mashed up accent that I've heard in quite a while.

Matt Smith was a good guest again. I hope he comes back to the US enough to become recurring. You can tell, from doing Comic-Con and other various podcasts like Nerdist that his interviews are getting better.

For where I live (Chicago affiliate), the theme plays right after the intro, but it's played in full (including the "Tomorrow's just your future yesterday" part) and doesn't cut off suddenly. Then, after commercials, it repeats the "Tomorrow's just your future yesterday" part before the monologue.

It's weird that it's cut off in other areas.

I'm hoping that Kristen Bell is on all of the episodes from Paris this week. I would assume that she would be, but who knows?

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Great episode, I hope all of the shows this week are that good.

From Ken Tucker at EW.com:

Craig Ferguson has turned his show into Le Late Late Show Avec Craig Ferguson this week, and began his visit to Paris on Monday night with a small triumph of clever silliness. Accompanied by one of his favorite regular guests, the beguiling Kristen Bell, and his robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson, Ferguson played up the semi-improvised, on-the-cheap ethos that serves his comedy so well.

Setting up a rickety card table and some folding chairs in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, Ferguson interviewed Bell, who wore a fetching beret. He modified a few of his usual impersonations, placing his “Michael Caine In Space” in Paris, and featured the Frenchified version of Aquaman — Homme D’Aqua — eating mushrooms and hallucinating pleasantly.

Most charmingly of all, Ferguson set up his precarious little talk-show desk and chair outside Shakespeare and Co., the famed Paris bookstore, and interviewed its present owner, Sylvia Whitman. Whitman proved to be a camera natural, quick-witted, game, ready for any whim Craig tossed at her. Cable networks take note: I would watch a reality show featuring Whitman, her bookstore, and its customers (some of whom she’s caught having sex in the stacks!) every week.

One of the most impressive aspects of the show is the fact that none of the Paris segments take place in a TV studio — Ferguson and his pals really take in the City of Lights, constantly on the move, ready for any street encounter and eager to visit famous sites and make them part of his broadcast.

Yes, the week of Paris shows has begun smashingly. They establish once again that Ferguson is utterly unlike any other host in late-night, willing to take the airiest of whims and make them hilarious realities. He is something close to fearless; he is certainly not merely funny but also adventurous. If the rest of the week is as good as Monday night’s show, Ferguson will have pulled off a stunt that can rank with the best American talk-show feats, and place him firmly in the company of Steve Allen and early David Letterman for imagination and deft foolishness.
