Re: White Collar -- Summer Finale -- "Countdown" -- 8/09/11
Fantastic finale, can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes.
This is my favorite show on TV right now. Loved how they slipped the forged painting into the room.
I'm also curious what's going to happen with Mozzie, it does seem like there's no good way his character would return to the role we've seen, however things have appeared that way before and they always find a way.

Mozzie really likes Mrs. Suit so that'll be the catalyst that gets him back (to help look for her) and then he'll, obviously, make up with Neil in some fashion.

I actually think her character works quite well. Her marriage to Peter is solid, she's got great chemistry with the main characters, and the writers actually find things for her to do rather than play the simple, all-too-happy wife.

I agree. One of the few couples on tv that isn't put through the relationship wringer for fake drama. She doesn't get a ton to do, but she never seems out of place for me.

I think you are forgetting last season when she shared more time with a green screen than she did with any of her co-stars. That was so glaringly bad CG and out of place. They should have done the kidnapping angle back then and let her go off on maternity leave.

Prediction: the second half of the season will end with the loot getting recovered & Keller taking the fall for having stolen it.

Not that this is a major surprise. USA renewed it today for a 16 episode 4th season.
I watched this earlier in the week and it was a great finale. Should be interesting with Elizabeth's kidnapping how that impact Peter and Neal's relationship.
The last scene with Peter being in a confused state in his house was very well done.

I'm going to post this here rather than start a new one. I just discovered the show and have caught up to the end of season 2. However I would like to see these 10 before the remaining 6 are shown. Does USA reshow previous seasons before the start of the new one?

Thanks for the info yet again DJariya. I love marathons.
TV marathons, running ones are out of the question.

Good episode.I'm actually kind of glad they didn't do a nice and clean wrap up to the whole Keller arc. They are definitely leaving it open for him to return again.
Loved the interactions between Neal and Peter after Elizabeth's abduction. Dekay was especially good. There is definitely still alot of tension between them.
Neal and Keller's little gladiator fight near the end was pretty cool. Should be an interesting final 5 episodes, especially with the reveal that Neal could be a free man soon.
I said it before, but why the hell did they make Hilarie Burton a series regular? I know it's probably tought to write the Sarah character into the show where it makes sense since she's an Insurance Investigator, but she's hardly been in the show this season since she got promoted. Sharif Atkins is still credited as a guest star, but he's in every episode.
BTW, for anyone who's curious on why Sharif still isn't a regular. Apparently as a guest star, he's free to leave the show anytime and take a lead role in a Pilot. If he's a series regular, he would be locked into a multi-year contract.

Argh! Five episodes left?

Great episode. That must have been the calmest kidnapping scenario I've ever seen. Glad it wasn't played too heavy, though. I knew this show wouldn't go that route; so that was a positive.
It'll be interesting to see where it goes with the probation hearing coming up.
He's crazy. As fast and as effortlessly as most shows are canceled - he better be happy about the steady gig and worry about pilots when this show finishes up. They'll give this show ample time, I'm sure, so he really has nothing to worry about. He's good on this show and would probably make more (?) if he went series regular.

Great episode. I thought they handled the end of the Neal/Mozzie treasure story as good as they could have. Obviously Neal wasn't going back to prison or else the show would be over, but to have Neal ready to confess and than the story with Keller came off well to me. I had wondered over the hiatus how they were going to wrap that up.
The reveal that Neal could be free at the end caught me by surprise. Only 5 episodes left.

I like that neither Neal nor Mozzie hesitated for even a moment about giving up the treasure to get Mrs. Suit--I mean, Elizabeth--back.
Having Neal off the leash could be an interesting turn for the show. He says in this episode that he doesn't leave because he's made a life for himself here and doesn't want to lose that. So maybe he would stick around and still work with Peter, but it would free them up to have excursions outside of New York.

Oh and who was it that called that one in the finale thread? Totally nailed Mozz having too much of a soft spot for Mrs. Suit to bail.

Great episode. It's good to see Peter and Neal back working together and civil without all that tension from the treasure. Loved Neal playing the substitute teacher.
And Dylan Baker was an awesome villain of the week. Perfect IMO to play a White Collar criminal.
Interesting too that the kid who brought the case to Peter and Neal also plays Alicia's son on The Good Wife.
BTW, where the hell is Sara? Yeah I know Hilarie Burton was on Castle this past Monday, but Sara's been MIA for several episodes now.

Personally, I feel a lack of Hilarie Burton is a bad thing. Especially after seeing her on Castle...

Loved this episode a great deal. I'm also glad they didn't drag out the hearing longer than necessarry.
It was great seeing Elizabeth Gillies as Dylan Baker's daughter.
