speaking of Logan, I forgot how they got rid of him on this. Did he just disappear with no explanation or did he do something stupid like assault a politician like in his initial exit from L&O?

Lately, every time my wife would catch a new episode all she would do is say how sorry she felt for him, having to say that crappy dialogue.

He was in trouble with a DA over some legal problem. In the beginning of the next season, it was disclosed that he quit. So he is free to return if he wants. Although the one interview I've read with Chris Noth, he pretty much sounded like he was tired of playing the Logan character.

I never watched CI, but I'm aware of Noth's role on that show after switching over from the original Law and Order. He now has a recurring part on The Good Wife on CBS and I'm sure he's very happy only working part time on a very successful show.

D'Onofrio and Erbe back for the final season

CI was the only Law and Order I could actually manage to watch entire episodes of. D'Onofrio was great and I had high hopes for Goldblum, but they wasted him big time with awful scripts.

Jeff Goldbloom and Saffron Burrowsis are both out and Vincent Phillip D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe return for "a tenth and final season".

I need a little help here from any CI fans. I'm familiar with this show and some of the characters and I know this is the last season and it's only 8 episodes, I'm going to try to jump in mainly because of how much I've enjoyed watching Law and Order: LA and since this is a procedural, it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on.

I know CI has rotated the cops like crazy in it's 10 years and Goren and Eames are the originals. Can someone give me a little breakdown on what happened to all the cops on this show. I know Jeff Goldblum and Saffron Burrows were the leads last season. I'd like a little background on how D'Onofrio and Erbe left the show before and what happened to some of the previous cops like Chris Noth's character.

Edit: I read an interview with CI's showrunner and apparently tonight's episode is actually episode 4. Episode 2 (next Sunday) will actually explain how Goren and Eames return.

Did they explain Goldblum and Burrows leaving the show after last season? I know it's Game of Thrones day and a few other shows are on too, but I assume there are fans of this show here too.

Yes! If they're not going to continue CI they really need to spin off these two into a new series.

The only ones that I remember having explanations were Logan, he quit, and Goren and Eames. She was put in charge after their Lt. was murdered, she fired Goren after he disobeyed orders for continuing an investigation while suspended and then she quit right after that.

There wasn't anything for Goldblum and Burrows because it was announced he wasn't coming back after last season had already aired.

Cool, Thanks man and that helps. I was aware about when Goren and Eames left the show, so I'm interested in seeing how they explain them coming back. Although airing the episodes out of order doesn't help.

My Sundays are overloaded with TV now. Animation domination, Game of Thrones, Breakout Kings and now this.

Having never watched this show before except bits and pieces, I liked it. Goren and Eames are great partners. Jay Mohr was a fun and really over the top "Charlie Sheen" type character.

Can't believe there is only 7 more episodes left and the series is done for good.

I didn't know that the show was only coming back for 8 episodes. Kind of a shame as this is probably my favorite of the Law & Order's (or at least Goren and Eames are my favorite team). I'm glad they brought Goren and Eames back to end the show though.

Goren on the phone was great

It was an entertaining episode but not great (plotwise). But Goren's antics made it very watchable.

Beyond that "welcome back, detectives" comment, are they ever gonna explain how Goren and Eames got re-instated?

Funny enough, Jay O. Sanders is playing the new Captain but in L&O fashion of recycling actors, he was actually a killer in season 2.

Ratings were nuts. Guess there alot of Goren and Eames fans returning. 5.1M viewers and 1.4 in the demos. That is really great for USA. If I were USA, I would extend the season to at least 13 episodes especially since you made the effort to bring back your main "A" team. 8 eps doesn't seem like enough to give them a proper sendoff.

Yeah it always cracks me up to see these shows on USA pulling pretty much NBC numbers while on cable. The last new episode of L&O: LA pulled 4.91m viewers and a 1.1 in 18-49... and thats on network tv.

He was the killer on a bunch of various L&O episodes. When they announced him I joked I'm shocked the cops don't take one look at him and arrest him for something on the spot, he's killed so many times.
