I'd watch that!

Good episode. Kind of just a calm before a storm, I feel, and clearly nowhere near as good as last weeks episode but this was still very nice. Jack Bender also did an amazing job (as per usual) as director. :)

I know its better for the story to have them switching sides later on but sawyer acts like he can not be exposed yet he has a fallback. and where was sayid when sawyer and kate went to the others. Whats he rooming the jungle?

The Dharma people are their friends. They've been living with them for three years. In contrast, they only lived with Jack and Kate for a couple of months. It would stand to reason that Sawyer and Juliet would be closer to Miles and Dharma folk then they would to Sayid.

Maybe it was so obvious that no one is writing about it. But if finally dawned on me towards the end of the episode that the guy's filling ripped through his forehead because of the superhuge magnet core thingie that the hatch is for.

I also assume that the incident (the first electromagnetic explosion or whathaveyou that the numbers and button keep in check) is what gives Miles' mom her radiation poisoning like affliction.

Really liked this episode. Thought it was much better than last week's which seemed too forced to me.

Surprised no one has brought this up yet. During some of the D.I. videos, Dr. Chang's (Halliwax, Candle, etc.) hand is missing. Hurley made a reference to Empire Strikes Back (which I'm not familiar with) about someone cutting off their fathers hand. I guess this means we can expect to see Miles cutting off Dr. Changs hand.

Luke Skywalker gets his hand cut off (which would be Miles in this case), not Darth Vader (Chang).

He is the brother in law on Breaking Bad. I don't think he's been on Lost before.

Can someone explain what Faraday was doing on the sub? I had lost track of what happened to him after Charlotte died, and can not figure out how he got to being on the sub.

Or is that a story yet to be explained?

We haven't been told what happened to Farraday since he saw young Charlotte on the island. I think once Sawyer/LeFleur said "he's gone"...

Holy shit, I think you're right. I was wondering about that, thinking that maybe the bullet hit him in the mouth and forced the filling through his brain, and Miles just didn't want to tell Hurley that the guy was murdered. Your explanation makes much more sense.

So is there a third faction in this whole Lost war? The faction that keeps repeating the "shadow of the statute" quote? I mean its not Widmore's people because Miles was working with Widmore. I guess it could be Ben (the Others') sleeper agents. But I don't know.

In Return of the Jedi Luke briefly gives in to the dark side during the final battle on Death Star two and hacks off Vader's hand. Luke sees the comparison to his own missing hand and gets his head back, teams up with Vader and kills the Emperor.

So of course this means Jacob is going to make Miles and his dad fight and they will eventually throw Jacob down an energy shaft.

Likelier that Ben purchased the plane, corpse gets the evidence, tries to deliver it to Widmore, gets killed by Ben's men, Ben steals the package (and later uses it as 'evidence' to convince Locke that Widmore's men are evil) and body gets delivered to Miles.

Or, your way.

But we still don't have confirmation on anything.

I don't know, it could be. But Naomi would have to know exactly what the dead guy was doing in order to confirm Miles' powers. Widmore would want the guy responsible for his dirty work to be dead.

So I think this is pretty good proof that Widmore did the whole thing.

I thought it was obvious that it was because of the magnetic core.

Now we have to wait two weeks. :(

I'm wondering also what is up with the interest of corpses. I still can't get past the Others demanding the corpse of the Dharma guy they killed several episodes ago.

Wondering if they use corpses to receive the consciousness of other people, kinda like how Desmond's consciousness traveled into his past self. That may be how they get new recruits.

Maybe I need to be hit with the obvious stick (or with Eko's walking stick) but I still can't figure out why Dharma was doing supply drops on the island in the first couple or so seasons? If they were all killed by the hostiles, why would Dharma "HQ" still be dropping food?

Perhaps one of the O6 - stuck in 1977 Dharmaville - scheduled them in advance, knowing that they would need them in the future...

It could also just be a weird time travel thing, dropped in 1977, ends up in 2006 or whatever

Or it could be because Hurley couldn't drop the weight, so they needed a way to keep him fat.

One thing worth noting on the food drops is that they were for the Swan station, which has now been established to be located in "hostile" territory. It might have been the easiest way to have food delivered.

It's also possible that Dharma may continue as an institution to exist outside of the island. Since the Swan was a bit more isolated (and possibly more secure) from the rest of the Dharma stations, they may have continued the food drops in the hope of survivors being there.

All speculation of course, but I do hope they address this sometime before the end of the show, as I've wondered about this myself.

So there's one question relating to Miles that remains unanswered -- why did Widmore think a psychic would be useful on the island?
