doubtful

remember the old lady said island was in a specific time

i'm sure the whole plane went back, don't understand how hurley, kate, and jack would get where they were though

That picture of the island Jack was looking at...almost 50 years to the day before 815 crashed, eh?
Well, we know that Sawyer and company come in contact with stuff from the airline in the present. Remember the beach wreckage stuff? Probably the same people who shot at them. I'm not sure where Ben, Sayid, and Sun are though. I'd guess Dharma time, but who knows.

One last thought. We will find out what happened to Christian, and his body, through Locke after the crash.

How do we know Ben was doing something with Penny again? I was thinking perhaps he got somebody to trump up a charge against Sayid in Guam and then confronted him, raising enough attention to get him arrested and extradited.

Also, if they're in Dharma time, does that mean they are free to come and go as they please?

So apparently Sawyer, Jin, and company's final flash was to the late 60s/early 70s? The Dharma Initiative was supposedly founded in 1970. The Orchid, not even the well, was built yet after their last flash. I'm guessing they've been moving and living in "real time" since Locke fixed the wheel, so ~3 years. Sound half right?

Three years is what they said, which explained Aaron's growth off island. Obviously they spend some time during the Dharma era because they seem to be fairly comfortable in the uniforms, aka not worrying about other flashes.

I agree the actual plane and new redshirts crashed in the present. They are probably fighting with the leftover Others who are not flashing through time.
Didn't Kate landed in the waterfall too from the first crash?

It was never really shown. She was first seen next to a waterfall I think. I believe she was taking the handcuffs off.

Not really, since "guy on street" counts as a "new character". Doesn't mean anything.

Wow, really? I thought this was the first great episode of the season. Probably one of the best in the last year or so. For all the bullshit crowing about how many answers have been seen this season, this is the first episode I thought we actually got some.

Yeah, but don't worry, since she and Jack fucked the night before the plane left, I have a feeling she's preggo now and they can conceive on the island without her dying, so she'll have her own baby. Maybe.

I don't think they would've gone through the trouble of giving the other first class passenger a line and having Lapidus as the pilot if they weren't all going to end up on the island. And notice that by having that guy speak to Jack, he's filling the position of Ana Lucia.

Let's just hope Lapidus doesn't go the way of Grunberg.

Ben's line "Who cares?" had me laughing, but was BAD timing.

I would have been upset, but the guy I was watching with blurted out the same thing during that scene. I glared at him, he looked at me and asked, "Oh. Didn't you see that movie?"

The thing is, it's a movie that I probably would have seen at some point. Now, I have no desire whatsoever to see it. Perhaps it wasn't very good and he saved me time. Whatever.

As far as this episode goes, I'd put it toward the top of the season in terms of quality. A few things that irked me. One isn't a big deal: At the beginning of the episode, when they showed Ben, Sun, Jack, and Desmond entering the Dharma Lamp Post, the scene seemed slightly different from the one that aired last week at the end of the episode. I was pretty sure that Ben said, "Hello, Eloise", upon entering, but that didn't happen this time-- and we were seeing the same scene, but from different angles. I was only looking for it because I like seeing attention to such detail.

They better explain why Sayid was on that flight. This has already been mentioned in this thread.

I'm really psyched for next week's episode! Wish I could freeze myself until next Wednesday!
