Maybe it's just me and a few dozen people here. The current season looks more digital and processed. Past seasons looked more natural and film-like.
Unless this is all done on purpose for artistic/story effect and we go back to film in Season 6. Then that's a neat trick.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Dharma decided to dig down to the Frozen Donkey Wheel solely because they were wondering what the fuck a rope was doing hanging down into the ground?

Tunisia was the end point of the jump when the island was at its previous position. And I think it's safe to assume that the jump is to the antipodal point of the island location. So, depending on where the island is currently located, the current antipodal point of the island is probably not in Tunisia.

I actually think that might be the case. Even though I think the well probably pre-dates Dharma. I think the well might be dug because of the rope and Dharma might be interested in the well.

Sorry for being way to late to this one. But the idea of the source being in Engalnd is just ... well, silly.
This has got to be one of the most tired plot lines ever. It's briish and oh so secret. Calling doctor Evil...
Can't belive i almost forgot... more tired than the bloody germans as big old evil.

It doesn't really bother me when the show goes off into the realm of nonsensical science fiction, but the whole 'you have to recreate your first flight' thing rubbed me as just being way too silly. I can suspend my disbelief and accept that in the show's world, there's this magical island moving through space and time and you can only get to it in specific windows of opportunity. I can't buy the whole 'Locke needs your dad's shoes, someone has to be in custody, as many survivors as possible have to be on the plane' crap. I enjoyed the episode, but the writers are walking a really fine line with the plot and it felt like they really fell off into the land of the ludicrous with getting the Oceanic 6 back to the island.

I agree 100% with anyone who said recreating the first flight seems stupid. I also said this in the thread for last weeks' episode. Eloise said the window would be open for them to get back to the island...so why would they have to recreate the first flight if the window is going to be open anyway? Why wouldnt Jack, Sun, Desmond, etc question this?
Also, did anyone notice towards the end when they were showing the injured passengers that one of them looked like Kristin Rohde (Claire Howell from Oz)? That would be the third (?) cast member from Oz now on Lost.

It may not entirely be a time paradox. It could be that, in the "original" timeline, the well was dug for whatever reason. Now, it will be dug because there is a rope there.
The well is dug regardless. Only the reason has changed.
(As far as the recreation of the first flight, just because the window was open did not mean that the flight would necessarily enter it. Think of it like a highway. Just because there is an open exit does not mean that you will take it. There have to be certain circumstances involved for you to exit. It may also be that, while the flight would have crashed by the window simply being open, the Oceanic 6 would not have "flashed" off the plane were it not for the recreation. We simply do not know at this point.)
