He didn't have his power while in the other body, he didn't even know how to access Jesse's power until right there at the end.
*this of course is my personal opinion on how things in that universe work but really I have no idea.

Argh. That makes no sense at all. I don't even think it would make sense if he lost every one of his acquired powers including telekinesis, but to lose all of them except the one is even more bizarre.

Peter, Sylar, and to a lesser degree* the girl in new Orleans all have the ability to accumulate powers/abilities. However, I think Peter's and the girl's involve actual permanent DNA rewriting**. Sylar's is based on learning how the ability is done by using his natural ability to "figure things out" by looking at the brain of the person. It's possible, I guess, that the virus interrupted his ability to access most of those stolen powers.
*As far as we know she can watch any non-superpower ability and know how to do it. So far it's only been non-superpower type stuff.
**Based on a comment made by Suresh last season while studying the girl.

It's not entirely the fault of the actress either, though she is as terrible as I've almost ever seen. But the writing appears to want to make her as annoying as is humanly possible, with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

I was actually happy that Sylar killed that Company woman so quickly. As soon as she appeared I thought, "great, just what this show needs - another new character to follow."

This show is normally pretty void in chemistry between the various actors, but I thought HRG and Sylar played very well off of each other. They're the show's own version of Dutch and Billings.

For the most part, I thought this episode was pretty good, especially compared to the premiere. Glad they got Claire an interesting storyline and I'm glad to see Peter out of the other guy's body. And the Sylar/HRG stuff was very good.

If this was last season, Peter would've been in Jesse's body for 23 episodes.

I also thought that the Haitian was pretending to be mute to everyone except HRG? They threw that out the window right away. Or am I misremembering?
I still like this show, but the stupidity of some of the characters is cringe-inducing (and the biggest idiot, Mohinder, wasn't even in this episode).
Claire: Asks people to teach her to protect herself. Maybe Peter could've helped her control her powers, but what was fire-mom going to teach her? Shouldn't she just take some martial arts courses or something? And then, without that training, she goes after other bad guys with powers, even though she STILL can't defend herself?
Hiro: He's the biggest culprit of stupidity-to-drive-the-plot. Obviously, speed girl had to eventually make off with the formula. So without checking where she is, they go subdue the Haitian with some convoluted plan, and sit there arguing with each other. I guess they have to dumb him down to neuter his powers, similar to what they did with Peter last season. I like that he was captured, though.
Level 5 bad guys that robbed the bank: Their main goal (at least for one of them) was to kill HRG. They had ample opportunity to do so when they escaped. I'm sure with all the fear flying around when Sylar was coming, that strength guy was pumped up. Instead, let's stage a robbery and hope he comes. Never mind that, as far as they knew, he would most likely come with his Haitian partner, who nullifies powers and is probably how they got caught in the first place.

just being able to cheat death does not turn a cheerleader into a Terminator all of sudden.
as for the show, pretty cheesy but still enjoyable, the way a show about super heroes should be imo.

If anyone's acting is annoying, it is Greg Grunberg's.

This show poses a real dilemma for me. Parts are whimsically creative...bordering on greatness, which are followed by lengthy segments that are so insipid I want to change the channel - but I don't hoping for more of the former. But it gets tougher every episode to gut out the gaps.
