Spoiler:
I was disappointed with the Rousseau revelation. It seems like there was a lot more story to be told about her and how she got on the island and her life for the past 16 years.
I was surprised to see that the mercs apparently just got their hair mussed in their encounter with Smokey. Sure sounded like they were being killed last week.
Always nice to see more Rose & Bernard.

This seems to be the kind of episode people jump all over and say they don't like, because it was more heavily character-driven than mythology-driven. But I really dug it. Thought the comment about it feeling like a vintage, season 1 type episode was apt.
I think Rousseau's story will coincide with a Richard Alpert flashback if we ever get that. I'm struggling to think of any other ways her story can be told, now she's confirmed dead. I still can't comprehend how they're going to be able to tell Libby's Story, and tim'es running out for it to be even told this season as they'd said (might've been one of the episodes that fell victim to the WGA strike).

Not sure if this means anything, but it really seems like they went out of their way to show us plenty of Jack with his shirt off in the beginning.
Where was the scar from the surgery? I couldn't see it, and I'm watching in HD on a 61" display. I'm not expecting a big gnarly scar, but if you had an appendectomy under those conditions, I would think there might be some visible mark even a couple years later.
Maybe Hurley is right to a certain degree.

I think Kate was talking to Ben and doing stuff for him. that's how I took it. when she said "him", jack obviously thought it was sawyer since those two were close. but it's obviously Ben. I doubt sawyer can use his boost mobile on the island or else jinn would've contacted sun also. only Ben can come an go.

I completely forgot and didn't react at all with the line of "you're not even related to him!". I knew, but had completely missed the point that Jack was Claire's brother and clearly was related to Aaron, while Kate wasn't.

Are we supposed to take the smoke detector going off outside of Jack's office as another hint to the smoke monster "becoming" other people, or is a convenient plot point to get Jack into the lobby?

That (posted picture) doesn't look like an appendectomy scar to me - more like just a skin wrinkle/muscle. I watched the first flashback scene again where Jack is in bed and they pan from his waist to the phone... there is NO scar there.

Oh, Palavar... that one is better. Huh. Now I'm confused. I was CONVINCED he didn't have one.
What does everyone thing happened to Claire? It's not like her to just lose it and go off into the jungle.
