I agree, some parts of the show can make your hairs stand up a bit. Like someone else said, this ep had a vintage Lost feel to it, with it being kinda of eerie and the acting was pretty on point. Jack commencing his downward spiral was performed well by Fox, and his jealousy was subtle but silently aggressive.

Oh, and Kate kind of made my pants tighter

I think in her short flashback, it sort of indicated that she was a world traveler/explorer/treasure hunter type, didn't it? Maybe that's their reasoning, I dunno.

So what purpose, in terms of plot device, did Jack's surgery have? I don't think the Juliet/Kate chat was that significant. Maybe Jack didn't survive the surgery after all?

Funny how the psychic's "reading" of Claire way back early on in season 1 is now coming to fruition. So why is it so important that Claire (or just NOT Jack) raise Aaron? Obviously that's one of the big questions of the series, I think.

I think it's more of the bad influence Kate is to Aaron than Jack. She does wind up with him at the end of the S3 finale, and she's proven to be pure trouble to most around her.

Seems that Jack fnds out Claire is his half sister, judging by that argument with Kate where he says "you're not even related to him!" Of course the writers could have just thrown that in there, but I think it means something.
