Count me in among those that enjoyed it. They kept the "fun" factor that made the original watchable.

I thought it looked great in HD as well.

Some things I didn't understand..
Was Mikes Mom (the one who died) supposed to be Bonnie?

I think they should of used the new Camaro for the new car, not the mustang. But they probably got huge funding from Ford..

I didn't like the car chase because all the cars in the chase were FORD.

I was disappointed that when KITT was accelerating they didn't show the speedometer with the clicking...

The other thing was too many damn commercials..
I believe the mother's name was Jenny if I'm not mistaken. *shrug*

I like the look of the Mustang. I'm not really keen on all the morphing/nanotechnology. Not sure why, but I really just prefer K.I.T.T. being armored/bulletproof.

The next great series. Nah. A passable Knight Rider. For me, yeah. If the series gets picked up, I'll be there.

Oh and I read that Val Kilmer actually voiced K.I.T.T. as a last minute replacement. I could be wrong.

Saturday soon enough. According to the TVGuide, that's when they are reairing it. I liked it too.

Well I liked it. Thoughtbi wasn't based on some comments. They didn't take it too seriously, but it wasn't trying to be a hack job either. I especially liked the nods to the original and the Action Pack movie.

I think there is room for improvement with the acting, but it wasn't terrible. I also thought Val did a good job. Lastly, I think this succeded where Bionic Woman failed, in that it actually bothered to set up a han/emotional element with the character. I felt Mike had issues to deal with - and still does - and was driven by his mothers passing. Meanwhile, Jamie simmers just got drunk and said may as well.

Oh, and the plane v the truck adds a new global element.

I'm in no way suggesting that they slingshot a 550 thousand dollar car through the air. But Michael Moore & co. made me believe there's a half-mile long aircraft carrier in space that can "jump" from one point to another which houses a society that for some reason does not find it inefficient or wasteful to cut the corners off of every scrap of paper they use.

I think with relatively little technical wizardry they could reasonably convince me that KITT just jumped something.

Not wrong, he replaced Will Arnett fairly late, due to Arnett's connection with GM.

Unless this is sarcasm about it being mentioned a million times or something.

I enjoyed this movie/pilot quite a bit. It was goofy, but I followed up the flick with the Goliath season 2 opening "movie," and, well, the new series didn't seem so goofy afterward.

I liked Val as KITT, but I hope the writers give the car a little more personality as the series progresses.

I also hope that some non-Ford cars show up in the future.

I thought it was OK, thought didn't like how the new KITT's armor depended on the nanotech - when the computers were off it and it was getting shot up, the windows shattered and the door had a couple bulletholes.. it should at least have some old-fashioned armor w/o the nano.

FYI: Just posted the numbers in the Primetime TV Ratings thread, "Knight Rider" got 12.71m viewers (and built up a bit each half hour) and a 5.0/12 in the 18-49 demo.

I think we will be seeing Knight Rider this fall.

I wonder what will be a good timeslot for this show?

Possibilities:

Sunday - 9pm
Monday - 8pm (before "Heroes")
Monday - 10pm (after "Heroes")
Wednesday - 9pm (but I guess could face "Lost" if it moves to that night)
Wednesday - 10pm
Friday - 9pm (before "Las Vegas", but the night sucks overall, so that would no doubt kill the series)

I just think you look at the Pontiac Trans Am and go "that car is light, it could probably get launched into the air" (and they did, if you go back and watch the DVDs you can see a lot of the ramps).

The Ford Mustang looks like a beast. There's no way that car is going anywhere off the ground.

It's re-airs Saturday night at 9pm.

Hey someone has to pay for the production costs. (RE: All those Ford commercials)

I think this could finally be the most compatible show with Heroes and could finally break that 10pm at Monday timeslot curse.

8pm: Chuck
9pm: Heroes
10pm: Knight Rider

That IMO would be a great night of TV.

You know it's a bad thing when the best actor in the show is a professional poker player.

Jesus this dialogue and acting is atrocious. Funny to see the Montecito as the featured casino, though.

Below is a little interview with David Hasselhoff about the new Knight Rider.

<object width="510" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/Rsm2yUosMWS4SUBcZKljrQ"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/Rsm2yUosMWS4SUBcZKljrQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="510" height="295"></embed></object>

Just an FYI, the movie is posted on Hulu.com. Surprised the running time without commercials is only 80 minutes.

I just watched it tonight, overall I definitely liked it. Some other thoughts:

1. I really liked Val's voice as KITT. I was skeptical at first, but it seemed to be
a perfect fit as the show went on.
2. Love the new car. Love the nanotechnology. A little skeptical about the physics of the the SUV stopping in it's tracks when it hit KITT (but I'm fine with the physics of the nanotech )
3. I liked Michael. Once again, I was skeptical about this guy from the previews, but he seemed like a good fit.
4. I liked Bruce Davison's character. I think he needs to be a little more eccentric. He didn't come off as such a crazy hermit guy as they made him to be from the descriptions from other characters. I still imagine him turning into liquid from X-Men, though.
5. I like the subtle tie-ins with the original show/people. They didn't go overboard with trying to connect the two shows. Hoff's appearance/acting seemed a little forced.
6. It's been a while, but I'm almost certain that KITT was destroyed in a mini-series that was on about 10? years ago. I'll have to IMDB that one.
7. That SUV keeping up with the KITT on the mountain? Yeah right. That was the only part that seemed to drag on too long.
8. Is the earpiece the new watch, or is it just one of the tools to communicate with KITT?

You're probably remembering several things. KITT was rebuilt (as a red car) in a TV movie called Knight Rider 2000 that aired in 1991. This is the one where Devon was killed.

Then there was a horrible syndicated series from around 10 years ago called Team Knight Rider, which had a bunch of talking vehicles (motorcycles, SUVs, etc). Thankfully, it seems like the new movie is ignoring both of these...
