Knight Rider - NBC 2008

This trailer for the NEW tv show came out this weekend

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KoRgD6yFhwE&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KoRgD6yFhwE&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

I think it looks bad-ass and I think it will be better than the Sarah Connor Chronicles....nano paint camouflage :)

That was not Will Arnet. Which is a good thing (thought it was a miscast from the start).

Ranger 01-07-08 02:05 PM

Looks interesting, might give it a shot. I don't know if it will do well on network tv.

TheMovieman 01-07-08 02:11 PM

I know it's a teaser but "meh". I'll certainly give it a try, but I don't have high hopes.

I saw an ad that said he was the voice of Kitt. Was that part recast?

critterdvd 01-07-08 02:21 PM

Im kinda confused.

Is this a movie or a TV Show?

Or is it one of those back-door pilots where its airing as a movie, but if it does well it will get a series order?

DJariya 01-07-08 02:43 PM

It's a back door pilot. If the ratings are good, NBC will probably order it as a series for Fall 2008. I'm very curious to see how they will incorporate David Hasselhoff into this TV movie since he's only a "special guest star."

DRG 01-07-08 02:46 PM

Forget Will Arnet, that car is miscast as KITT.

DJariya 01-07-08 02:52 PM

I assume the Knight Rider 2000 TV movie from 1991 doesn't exist in this TV movie's universe since that took place in the year 2000.

Also, Team Knight Rider doesn't exist as well since I vaguely recall one of the characters on that show mentioned she was Michael Knight's daughter.

As someone who spent the last 3 years designing the Mustang, I couldn't be happier! :)

TheNightFlier 01-07-08 07:49 PM

No William Daniels, no sale.

Damage repair? KITT doesn't get damaged!

Sidenote, if you had more time would you have re-designed the steering "wheel" as well? ;)

movieguru 01-07-08 10:49 PM

Don't care much for the trailer. It neds to have the old mud=sic theme. Whatever they were playing in the background here souded too weak.

You can't make everyone happy. Besides, don't all you Sparty's have the wheel in one hand and a beer can in the other? ;)

Nothing against the car, it just doesn't feel like a KITT to me at all. It would be like if they made the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo into a Hummer. :)

Well this sure as hell is an interesting turn of events:

Val Kilmer to replace Will Arnett as KITT

In a bizarre turn of events that scream out "only in Hollywood", Val Kilmer has replaced Will Arnett as the voice of KITT in the forthcoming Knight Rider re-boot.

Arrested Development star Arnett had already completed his voiceover work on the TV movie, and according to Variety, NBC were happy with his performance.

Arnett has been working for General Motors for the last decade however, as the voice of GMC Trucks. With a Ford Mustang cast as KITT in the film, and with Ford taking an active role in the marketing and branding of the film, GM felt there was a conflict of interest and Arnett pulled out.

NBC has therefore signed up Top Gun star Kilmer a mere two weeks before the film airs, and will doubtless play up the fact that they now have a genuine movie star voicing the super-car in the run up to the film's premiere.

The new Knight Rider airs on NBC on February 17, and follows the adventures of Mike Tracer, son of the original show's hero Michael Knight.

Wow, that's a lot of work to complete 10 days out.

As much as I like Arnett, I didn't think he was right for KITT. Kilmer seems better, but I'll wait and see.

It's a better choice. Arnett, who I think is hilarious, probably isn't "Serious" enough for the role.

Doc MacGyver 02-07-08 09:17 AM

-pray- PLEASE play it with an air of "Gay Perry"

As much as I love Arnett, the fact that he said "Mike" instead of "Michael" was already bugging me. Will Arnett should never, ever, EVER say "Mike".

So this is a fine change.

Yes, because now KITT says "I'm your huckleberry."

Deftones 02-07-08 10:46 AM

What is weird is there was two different promos as of about a week ago, and I could swear there is a different voice on one of them.

I said that a few posts above.

hitmanjules 02-07-08 02:18 PM

Bring back William Daniels' voice!

ANDREMIKE 02-07-08 02:50 PM

Are they targeting the right audiance for this show? Is it targeted to the adults or kids? I remember being 12 or so and watching Knight rider and loving it...
