With cdollaz on this one. Pointing out that someone will get far exposes them as a threat, "skeletor" or not. Courtney actually seems intelligent (and funny) and picked up on Jean-Robert's intent, calling him on it.
As for James, I'm still not seeing what everyone else is. He seems like an idiot to me. I hope Todd goes through with the plan to blindside him. After reading Jaime's interview, I feel a lot better about their behavior during the thrown challenge and I can totally see it going down just as she described.

My favorite part of the episode was James talking to camera about that and laughing so hard, you could hardly understand him.
He was like, "Please, PLEASE let them try to play the fake idol. Please let that happen!". That was hilarious, and I liked his sense of humor.
Of COURSE Jamie is saying NOW that she knew it was fake all along... duhhhh, she doesn't want to look stupid. This is the same girl who thought they were being allowed to pick two from the other tribe, and it never occurred to her and PG that they would have to give up two tribe members. She just came across as not very bright, multiple times.

I believe Jaime. The editors are obviously trying (and have been since episode 1) to create an underdog hero in James and most of the viewers are falling for it. James makes it further than Jaime and comes from behind as a result of her just doing what's in her best interest to further herself. From their point of view, there's no reason to show the horrible things James was saying to Jaime and Peih-Gee. By the way, this is not hard to believe, considering the way he talks to and about some of the women on the show. It also doesn't make sense to show Jaime talking about the idol being fake, considering it would have ruined this amazing "dumb blonde" moment the viewers are going nuts over.

And good news, Survivor had its highest viewership last night since the premiere. Last year Cook Island had more people watching, but its viewership jumped all around from 12.5M to 18M and Fiji Island had slightly lower viewership than this year, but it also jumped around.
This year it has had this for viewership:
15.35 14.14 14.14 14.22 14.03 14.19 14.32 (last night prelims)
That's pretty consistant.

This sounds great when read out of context.

I thought it was interesting that Jeff didn't ask for a hidden immunity idol up front like the past few seasons. Maybe they're going back to revealing it after the votes have been counted.

He didn't say anything about it because it wasn't yet common knowledge that there was an HII. If everybody kept there mouths shut there would have only been about 4 people that knew they even existed.

You'll have to help me understand what she's done in this game that has been remotely intelligent, because I have a hard time seeing how someone so strategically inept and so intolerant of others has much going on upstairs. It's to her good fortune that she's completely useless and therefore the least threatening person in Survivor history, but that's not a strategic decision -- she was born that way.

Different strokes. I never said she was a strategic genius. People can be intelligent and funny and not know how to play Survivor. She's smart enough to be onto Todd and Amanda, she just doesn't have the support to do anything about it. Her argument against Jean-Robert isn't entirely unfounded. He seems likely to turn against the others if it's in his best interest. She'd do better to make it less about her personally, and more about the danger he poses to the alliance/tribe.
Plus I think she's witty.
Anyway, I don't expect to sway anyone. I've defended maligned castaways before and it never goes over too well.

I was that JR would just give into his hunger and swallow Courtney whole.

i thought it was as hilarious as the next guy that Jaime played the non-immunity idol. but thinking about it, it really was worth a shot. she knew she was on the chopping block, so why not take a chance and try?
but what really made it so hilarious was how she was touting her intelligence all episode, and that she KNEW she had the idol, and she couldn't wait to see everyone's faces.

I'm not too impressed by Courtney's "intelligence". She's just lucky that Jean-Robert is still around for comparison.
James isn't the brightest bulb either, but at least he's funny. Loved it last week when he was so happy he nearly knocked Todd to the ground with a little love tap. When Todd yelped, James hollering "That's love baby! It makes you strong!" had me

I do wonder what the rules about finding the HII on someone else's person is though. Would they have been able to keep it if they stole it from James without him realizing (it's possible if they switched up, that he may never have looked back in his own bag).
Now the question is, how does anyone get rid of someone with TWO hii? Did he promise to give one back to Todd?
