Have you ever seen "Footloose"?

To me, this show has gotten better every week. I even start each new episode a bit skeptical because I don't think it will be as funny as the week before, and it always surpasses my expectations. The Crazy Dogggz video was so funny that I watched it 3 or 4 times. "Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeah!"

A few years ago I saw 'footloose' but I barely remember it so other than like 2 moves, I didn't recognize this as a direct parody of that...I'll rewatch 'Footloose' and then watch this ep again to see if that makes it work better...

Okay, did anyone else feel like the guys thought the show was going to be cancelled after one season? I can't remember ever seeing an episode of a show that felt so much like a series finale but wasn't. Murray gets rich, the guys just miss out on superstardom, angry dancing, etc.! It all just screams last episode. I guess we have to assume that Crazy Dogggz will quickly cease to be famous (although I'm not sure how that's possible!) and Murray will blow all his money on something stupid and his wife will get another separation.
My favorite bit:
Bret: When have you given us any good ideas.
Murray: The first time I saw you perform. I said, turn around and face front.
Bret: That was a good one.
Murray: And we haven't looked back since.

The video for Kenny Loggins' "Footloose," comprised mainly of scenes from Kevin Bacon's (and Kevin Bacon's double) "angry dance." Note the industrial setting, the "frustrated slap-fight with your own shadow" dance style, and try to make it all the way through to the end for the "throwing yourself around a plywood corridor and then jumping into overblown white" bit that was copied directly in the episode.

I don't think Murray got rich enough to retire or anything, I just think he came into a nice chunk of change that allowed him to get the nice car and clothes. He's only the manager and maybe he only got a finders fee, whereas the labels got Crazy Dogggz a real manager.
In any case I like how they no longer have the one fan they can rely on, and it looks like they even miss the stalker aspect of her too.
I'm sure they'll be back to normal at the end of the first episode next season.

That was a Macarena (sp?) take off - the video was almost identical.

I've just caught up on this series from watching the DVDs. I think it's hilarious and am looking forward to the second season.

This is one of my new favorite shows.
I admit that it is very similar to "Tenacious D" (anyone catch the show's reference to such similarities?), but it's still funny. The only song that I felt really suffered in the comparison from the live-act to the show was "Business Time" (the TV version has no sense of timing, although I like the funkier chorus).

The first episode of the new season of Flight of the Conchords is up exclusively on Funny or Die right now. It won't start airing on HBO until January 18th. Check it out, because it is hilarious stuff. If you don't watch this show you're missing out.
Head over to Funny or Die and it's the main video of the day front and center.

So glad the show is finally back. One of my most watched single seasons of any TV show.
