Well that I could figure out
, but it just seemed like more than that, but maybe I'm just overanalyzing like everyone else does.

They seem perfectly content to hatch evil plans to steal babies and stuff, but have stayed on their side.
Finally, was anyone else confused about when Locke talked to Kate? She had the fight with Julia (left lying on the floor holding her stomache with the sandwich next to her). When Locke comes in she is sitting at the table with her back to him. When the others start to leave, she wakes up on the floor holding her stomache right next to the sandwich!?! Are we to assume she thought that was just a really comfy place to sleep?

Two episodes in a row now where Sawyer acts completely out of character to serve the plot. It's doubly disappointing that Damon is credited as writing this most recent foolishness. He's too good a character, and Holloway's too good in the role, to be treated this way.

So is Locke's dad still in the box alone? Did Locke beat the crap out of him? Did he go with the Others as Locke's prisoner?

I didn't take it that Sawyer didn't know to be nice, just that he didn't want to be nice. He wants everyone to hate him because he hates what he used to do to people. W
hen Hurley told Sawyer he might be banished, he realized he had no choice, since he didn't want/couldn't to go through all the work of surviving for himself.
Hurley was conned him because he wanted Sawyer to be then new leader.

Funnily enough, in all my years of deception, I never did learn how to fake being nice to people. One might find that a tad unrealistic, but it really makes perfect sense. You see, the writers come up with story ideas and then they write characters to fit those plot points, rather than going for any kind of consistency. It's also the reason I've pretty much constantly bounced back and forth from being an asshole to a decent guy over the last couple years, or months, depending on your point of view. Anyway, I was just stopping by because the writers asked me to come out and explain why it's not completely retarded that a professional con man wouldn't have a clue how to trick people into liking him. I hope you enjoyed the comic hijinx as Hurley taught me how to be nice, and were a bit moved when I finally learned my lesson. Of course, next week, I'll probably be back to being a complete asshole. Please keep watching!

What is the big mystery about where the Others went? I mean - we all know that they have the other island where Jack, Kate and Sawyer were - they probably took Locke's dad over there so he could put him the bear cage or something.
And - anyone think that maybe the Others left so that the beach folks WOULD move in to the village - and maybe they could do some more observations. And they left Juliet behind so she could work the fence for them.

They probably left the village because they realized it was not safe from the Losties anymore. If one group found them, it is likely other Losties will continue to come, looking for their friends.

Ok episode. Back story utterly useless as the past couple of Kate one's have been.
Island stuff was entertaining, but didn't really reveal anything other than the other's know about smokey, but don't know much other than that he doesn't like the fence.
Will be glad to see all the losties (sans locke) back together on the beach next week. Hopefully things will finally pick up.

If Kate/Sayid/Locke could prop up a tree and climb over the "sonic fence," then why couldn't the smoke monster just go over it????

The long and short of it is, any show that starts as strongly as Lost and then drops off in quality is going to have a segment of disappointed, legitimate fans who stick around longer than the casual viewers, who are willing to drop the show as soon as it bores them. We'll keep watching and participating in discussions and when something bothers us, we'll point it out. If there's an episode that we really enjoy, we'll point that out too. It's great that you're still enjoying the show and I know there are plenty of people that agree with you. These discussions are for all of us, though, not just the ones who find no fault with the show. The threads are most interesting when people point out what they did or did not like about an episode, as opposed to devolving into the 'this show sucks' and 'so why don't you quit watching' nonsense.

One thing that made me wonder though is why was Jack sleeping/knocked out longer than Kate?
That being said if they kill off Locke-- I am done watching this show
