I don't remember this being mentioned but did anyone notice that Paula's one arm is twice the size of the other?

Figures Paula would pick Birmingham to be totally shit-faced. Guess "family obligation" has a new meaning???

example of new usage: "Sorry for throwing up and not making a comprehendable sentence the entire evening. I had a family obligation."

My favorite of the girls is still Jory, and I really liked the guy who sang Seal tonight. Very different voice. The lisp may be a problem, but I really liked his tone.

Maybe he would have become more successful if he was in season 3... Yes, they needed him in season 3.
He had the misfortune of going up against the best winner that Idol has offered, still.

Jeez, Paula couldn't sit still for very long. If she keeps bouncing around like that, people will start to say that she's on something.

When Big Bird was being interviewed in the waiting room, did anyone notice the girl behind her had an eye twitch?

I didn't think Blonde Bombshell sounded all that good. Randy and Simon were more takne in by her looks, and perhaps her story.

Haha, yeah. She twitched twice like she was crazy. Good stuff. Also, the blonde to the left of her was hot.

Well I actually watched it tonight, the guy who said he wanted to be a part of the show so he could make david hasselhof cry was pretty funny. I liked the girl who had the hair that was over 6 feet long that was quite a sight to see. It a shame she didn't make it to hollywood.

That's what you get for asking someone to tell you something "interesting" about themselves: "I live with mah grandma ..." *judges say "awww"* "... and my paralyzed Daddy ..." *judges look serious* " ... but its ok. He shot his wife after catchin' her with another guy, and shot himself. But its ok." *judges look horrified* Pretty much got her Golden Ticket right there

Baby-voiced woman has a career in cartoon voice work if the singing career doesn't pan out.

I thought that too. She sounded like a Rugrat.

Did anyone else notice that the camera would get a shot from behind on ONLY the cute chicks?

I'd like to see her do her hair up like Marge Simpson. Or maybe just gel and mousse it into a mega mohawk.

On the TVGuide and EW American Idol preview issues, Randy said his pick to win "had curly hair" and Simon said that his pick "does not look like an Americal Idol but has that likability factor". Looks like they were talking about the guy who wanted to make The Hoff cry.

The funny guy with the Hasselhoff joke would have been more entertaining if they hadn't shown him singing in the "Coming up..." segment earlier in the show. The should have set him up as a bad singer and surprised us.

Randy might have been, but I'm pretty sure Simon was talking about Sundance Head.

I thought Long Hair Girl had a pretty nice voice, but they probably did her the biggest favor of her life by telling her "no." From the looks of her and her family, they appeared to be either some kind of Fundementalists or possibly Jehovah's Witness (not that there's anything wrong with that). I can just picture their heads exploding Scanners-style the second they arrived in Hollywood. She seemed much too nice to make it in the music business.

I was hoping her dad had long hair, too.

I agree ... long-hair girl had a very pretty voice. I can understand why they passed on her, since it's a voice more suited for a church choir than AI. I wish they'd have given her a shot to sing something in a different style, though.

Another one that surprised me was Nicole (the one with her whole family wearing the "Team Nicole" shirts). I thought she sounded really good, but Randy and Simon weren't even close to passing her through. How can you pass baby-voiced woman and not pass her? I felt bad, because I had this image of the whole family sadly making their way home, all while still wearing the "Team Nicole" t-shirts (which Nicole will likely burn at home, while sobbing).

Wasn't Nicole the one with the nasally-inflected voice?

I thought Nicole sounded nice as well. I would have let her go on to Hollywood if I was a judge. Perhaps if Paula was there it might have turned out different, for she could have gotten Randy to go along with her and vote her through
