I think it's funny when the judges see a really pretty girl, and you know they are all thinking "please, please, please let this girl be able to sing in tune..." I saw this reaction from them when the Bailey Brown girl was up for her audition.

I loved seeing the clip of Paula opening the wrong door..and then someone finally going through the wrong door..but the wrong door opened..and the judges we're shocked heh.

Did anyone catch the sign that the mother of one of the girls who didn't make the cut was holding after her daughter came back out? It said:
"Jasmine's are next American Idol!"
That had me cracking up to no end, and then on top of that, they were carrying on about Simon not being American, and mother said, "Where is Simon from?" And Seacrest replied, "He's British." Then the mother said, "Well he needs to go back to British." As they stormed out they all kept saying, "Well Simon can kiss my ass." I just couldn't stop laughing at them. And later on towards the end of the show, in the narration, Seacrest said something to the effect of "Maybe Simon can go back to British."

I loved that! Though, to make matters just slightly worse, I'm pretty sure the sign read:
Jasmines are next American Idol
I don't think we could expect that crew to fully comprehend the complexity of contractions now can we???

HA!
Clearly she has a first grade education, maybe. They told us where French was in the second grade.

Oh how sad is the state of the usage of the English language in America.

it looks like only one night next week of the actual Hollywood round which will be on Tuesday, then we find out the top 24 on Wednesday. Both one hour shows. What's up with that? You'd think that Hollywood week would have some more time devoted to it. It's a lot of drama to cram into one hour.

Akron, the guy who was invited to Hollywood after singing the second song after his cousin sang "Amazing Grace" extremely slowly, was "disinvited" from Hollywood (as mentioned above). Possibly due to a marijuana possession charge a few years back.
Also, Ashlyn, the girl who made strange faces and was rejected but was then brought back in and sent to Hollywood (San Antonio auditions) put sugar in her ex-boyfriend’s gas tank last fall, a felony since damage was said to be $2,500 (per the article, I didn’t think that sugar did anything).

In any event, auditions are finally over. Out of 99,900 who tried out, 172 made it to Hollywood.
The two Hollywood rounds will be shown on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 13th and 14th. Both are one hour shows.
On February 20th the top 12 guys will perform (two hour show), followed on the 21st by the top 12 girls.
Hollywood was three shows last year - I liked it because I like the Hollywood rounds. That's where the crunch begins and besides, everybody has some talent else they wouldn't be there. Think of it, 6 out of 7 who make it to Hollywood are sent home.
Anyway, Hollywood was three shows last year and two shows this year. Last year they didn't have the auditions show like last night - where they just pick people from all seven of the other shows. This year they had that extra auditions show but cut Hollywood by one episode.
My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the people featured in last night's show probably made it far in Hollywood - possibly the final 24 - so they wanted to show their auditions to build a fan base. That was one of the complaints of previous years is that some people are featured and get an early fan base while others, the first time you really hear of them is when they are in the final 24.

Totally good call. I really liked the black girl on roller skates. And the Asian guy..well he is asian that has a good voice, so lets throw out that William Hung reference heh

I am not sure if I can pick out any favorites at all. I hope this means its like last year (where I thought any of 8-12 people could win), and not compared to Season 3 (Which was so weak..seriouslly would have a JPL or John stevens really gotten that far in a stronger season..?)
Spoiler about who might be going home

As for the females, I'm liking Gina Glockson so far.
