If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I would make a drinking game out of each time they said "other door".

Okay, that was the BEST line. "I think he took that in good spirits." (or whatever he said, I was laughing too hard to remember).

I never watch this but this is pretty funny. I won't watch after they do the auditions... but watching people make complete fools of themselves and not get how bad they are and get mad when people tell them they suck is damn hilarious

According to the new Tv Guide there was supposed to be a verbal smackdown between Jewel and Paula.

the best part of the Minneapolis auditions were the HD shots of the skyline. I grew up in MN and have been to several major U.S. cities; I still think Minneapolis has one of the best

seriously though, where does Jewel get off criticizing anyone's vocal ability? on second thought, most of her criticisms were dead on if they relate to her own singing, so I guess she's well-versed.

Is anyone at all put off by the obviously retarded contestants for next week? Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. They could at least put people on TV who don't make me feel guilty for watching.

I don't remember it being like this in previous seasons. The first hour is nearly over and I bet we've only seen like 6-7 people.

I was thinking the same thing. They would show 1 or 2 people and then another commercial.

The only way to watch the auditions is by time-shifting because it goes by much faster when you can skip the commercials.

I knew Sarah would make it, she had a nice voice.

AI's biggest fan, loved her reactions to getting dissed by Simon and Randy.

Poor rocker dude, they got him to sing Abba, he'll never be the same again.

The absolute best was the girl that sounded like the lion from the Wizard of Oz. She had me peeing in my pants. I can't wait to see it tomorrow.

Paula seemed really quiet tonight. Not her usual self...which was quite nice because she usually annoys the hell out of me

The Juggling dude reminds me of Nathan or Daniel from Nominees, which was on Sundance last year.

Agree on both counts.

There's no way the Amish guy was serious. The Bert Lahr chick either. The Crack Baby was far too smug. I liked Charo 2007, because she was sexy. The Navy Guy was good too, and likable.

There must have been a ton of commercials-- I started watching my recording at 8:30 and I was caught up to live TV by 9:30!

I usually allow 15 minutes per hour for commercials.

I got the biggest laugh at the girl trying to sing "Kiss". How can you meander through that song that badly? It has a definite hook but she sand all around it trying to find a melody based on snippets of lyrics. It was so bizarre it cracked me up.
