That was much, much better than I thought it would be.

I recall the same thing happening last season as well, believe it or not - they're full length episodes. Though I also recall them getting better at clumping them as the season went on.

So Juliette did a "good job" according to "Ben." What did she do? Sort of "break him" or something, I suppose? Found his weakness?
What I don't get is this: The plane quite obviously crashed by accident. Ben and the Others know this. So why are they treating the survivors like criminals (setting aside the fact that they actually are)?
If they know all that about Jack, then surely they know how wanted Kate is and what a conman Sawyer is.

Can someone confirm for me that it really was the same connected island when the camera panned out in the beginning?
As usual, they didn't answer near enough.
They should have done a two hour season premiere.

So are we supposed to know who Juliette is? Who is that actress... damnit she looks familiar. I went back and watched the finale (I thought she might've been Desmond's gal), but they still look different.

Who the heck is Juliet? From the very beginning, I thought she looked familiar and was trying to remember who she was, then I guess I realized that I remember her as an actress from another show or movie?

Juliet is played by Elizabeth Mitchell (see "Gia" for her tryst with Angelina Jolie's Gia in her wilder days). She's been around the block, and I do like her (was on E.R. for a stint as well), even though she decided she needed new boobies.

Then when I saw where they were, I started thinking it was Jack's Sarah, but then realized she was smaller than that.
Than I realized I didn't know what the hell was going on.

ABC always seems to be the worst network when it comes to commercial breaks. You are lucky if a "one-hour" program is more than forty minutes long. I was watching an ep of Miami Vice - Season 1 recently and the eps were 51 or 52 minutes long.
I like the casting of Elizabeth Mitchell - I didn't know she was going to be on the show as I have avoided all spoilers since last season ended.

Looks like Dharma/Hanso has hopes of building a "perfect" society away from the rest of the world. All of the hatches and cages are tests for outsiders to see if they can fit in their world. Also, taking blood is to see if they have any outside or communicable diseases so that they can prevent them from being passed to the others. The quarantine bit on the inside of the hatch or hatches could have been for them to rid themselves of whatever germs or bacteria they were carrying around before being integrated in their new neighborhood. This is what a a friend of mine and I think is going on.

It's interesting how they treated the 3 prisoners differently:
Kate - hot shower, new clothes, nice meal, then throw her in a cage.
Jack - Cold dungeon, but they talk to him like a person and offer him food.
Sawyer - straight to the animal cage, no food, nobody tries to have a conversation with him.
And who was the other guy in the cage at the beginning? What'd they say his name was? And what happened to him?

Anyone else notice in the beginning when Juliette put the Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues cd in the player, it played Petula Clark? Also, that version of Speaking In Tongues in the Dualdisc version which has been out less than a year.
I assume both of those are just an oversight on the part of the show.
