Monster of the week theme this week but at least they kept the side plots moving along. Next week looks to be quite promising. I loved the continuity using Blade's broken sword as an offering.

I thought so too. I'm really liking this show. How many more episodes for the season?

I do agree the actor appears to be finding his stride with the character which is reassuring.

But yet again he immediately loses ALL of his weapons at the start of the fight. It's getting a bit old. I realize they're doing it to ensure that it's a hand-to-hand fight with lots of structural obstacles being bashed in. But you'd think a character who is described as an experienced hunter would:

a) not lose his primary weapon (sword) every single fight
b) not lose his alternate primary weapon (big gun strapped to his thigh) every other fight
c) carry his backup weapons on a more secure harness than something that could apparently be removed using a pair of nail clippers wielded by a 5 year old
d) carry more back-up weapons

If this keeps up the writers should at least capitalize on this and have the House of Chthon take advantage of Blade's inability to hold on to his weapons at some point in time, perhaps following the dispatch of a monster-of-the-week.

Oh man, my favorite vampire goes up in smoke. Where else can I find creepy kid vampires. Everytime a creepy kid vampire comes along someone has to go and kill it. Do people kill werewolf kids, oh no they think they're cute little werepuppies. Its monster racism I say. I demand justice for all child vampires around the world. The ACLU will here of this.

And then killing off the creepy giant vampire in the same episode. Damn you blade. Do you think giant creepy vampires grow on trees. Those things take like 800 years to grow. I don't see why blade couldn't have use non violent method to bring the vampire down or try talking to him.

Done with my rant. There should be more hot lesbian vampire kisses and nude vampire scenes. However, how come no butt shot. Damn you prudish vampire, be more like Chase.

Yeah sucks they killed off the little girl so soon, she was a good villain. I Thought she was going to be around for a while.

Chase looks much better without that horrible wig.

I agree Charlotte was a good character, but the actress playing her would've eventually aged a bit. It was only just a matter of time.

If she's dead ... Comic book villains have a way of never quite dying. If they can up the writing a notch or two next season, this could still be a great series.

Already to the season finale. Boooo! I hope it's picked up for another season or 4. Next week's finale looks to be great. I agree with the others about wishing they wouldn't have whacked Charlotte. I loved that creepy little vamp kid! Was surprised the ex-FBI guy got whacked as well...figured he would join the Blade team for a bit.

For a show that I expected very little of (given it is Spike TV), I'm totally hooked on it....very Shield-like in that regard.

yeah, silt, i had very low expectations with this show, and it has delivered and gotten better with every episode. and now i think that even if i had had mediocre expectations going in, i'd still like it.

having a kid vampire is cool, but like it was said above, she'd age pretty fast between seasons.

I was also pissed they dusted Charlotte and her good bodyguard ! I wanted to see Charlotte and him duke it out with marcus.

For purebloods, they got killed way too easily

I don't think the Pure bloods are any stronger than non-pure bloods. The Vampire that Marcus beat the crap out of and killed in his office was a pure blood.

Holy season finale!

The architect's reward was nice. Too bad we didn't see more..

Spoiler:
I'm impressed with the Chase double-cross. She's hopefully being set up to be a major player in the next season. Hopefully they'll use her as such given the absence of other strong supporting characters.

Spoiler:
It's about time someone in this super-paranoid organization figured out that Krista was working for both sides. It actually makes sense given the stakes that they'd be watching individuals more closely.

Spoiler:
Unfortunately Blade still can't hold on to his weapons although he managed to do much better this time around. But it's getting old. Blade drops weapon, something interesting happens, major plot revelation.

Spoiler:
I don't know who the fight choreographer is but whoever it is, needs to go back to work with the actors. I know Kirk Jones isn't extensively trained with a sword but that ending fight sequence was just painful to watch. You may as well give them sticks to swat at each other for the duration of the fight.

Overall though, a big thumbs up to the first season. Here's to hoping they get picked up for a second season and many more.

On the contrary Lurker I didn't think the fighting was that bad at all. I think allot of credit goes to the cinematographer this episode.

Great season. I can't wait until next year.

I agree with Agent. The fight sequences (along with pretty much all of the other weak points of the show) have drastically improved since the beginning of the season. The final showdown between Marcus and Blade was done fairly well.

This was an excellent episode. Great way to end the season. Hopefully there will be a season 2.

I completely agree with the past few posters. The action, acting, character development, plotlines have drastically improved since the opener. Even Sticky is less stiff than when he started out. It'll be interesting to see where they go with the plotline with Marcus, Chase, and Krista from here on out.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I'm anxiously awaiting a second season, if there is one.

My Tivo didn't record the last minute or so - Krista asked Marcus how he knew where Blade was, and just as he was about to answer it cut off! Daaargh! What did he say?

Spoiler:
He grabbed her by the throat and told her that they had traced Blade through her. The last line was something along the lines of: "How long have you been working for Blade?" The episode ends abruptly after that.

Thanks, Lurker. I thought it might have been something along those lines.

The show has definetly gotten better. Blade is probably the weakest character on the show but they hide him well by giving lots of time to the other supporting characters and keeping their story lines interesting.

"Sticky" Jones is actually growing on me as Blade. At first it bugged me that he was trying to be Wesley Snipes, but I'm over it.

Krista, Marcus and Chase make the show, though.

I think it's a pretty good series. Not a groundbreaking one, but it could've been much worse.

I never felt the actor playing Blade was particuarly bad. I just think it doesn't take a whole lot of acting to be Blade in the first place.

If I had to pick a bone about acting, it would have to be Jill Wagner. Her character is almost as important as Blade and the entire series hinges on her storyline. With that said, in many Jill Wagner scenes, I sometimes wish they'd just go back to Blade. On the other hand, the guy who plays Marcus is absolutely brilliant and recent episodes really make you feel for him. And the Aurora vaccine storyline is really taking this series up a notch.
