Everyone knows this band is just a sham to make a bunch of TV cash. You can tell by how shitty and unoriginal the band's songs are. Plus, who the hell would honestly name their 'heavy, we want ozzfest" band 'supernova'? They'll record one album, tour once and drop off the face of the planet. Basicly it's a year of inconvenience for three guys who probably all have better things to do.

I predict these singers will go somewhere:

Josh - guy can sing and has so much soul it's not even funny. He was miserable for like two weeks playing lame nirvana songs and you could tell...but he nailed santeria

Zayra - She's a great performer and crazy as hell, which will attract some attention.

Ryan - excellent singer, great personality. Plus he avoids the underbite style of singing, which is nice.

Dilana - Her voice is awesome, she actually has a pretty good range and seems to be pretty cool personality-wise...she writes some really shitty lyrics though

HERe's why all of these people suck, and hopefully will never be heard from again.

Loucas- dude sounds like a cross between chad kroeger and dave mustaine from megadeth. His voice sucks so fucking bad, he can barely ever nail a pitch and look-wise he has absolutely no originality. He thinks he's the cat's balls, but he looks like a down-syndrome midget with a skunk streak. This is exactly why Supernova will choose him.

Magni - How has Disturbed not filed a suit against this guy yet? Plus he's spent the last two weeks singing poorly and blaming it on missing his family. Good luck on tour!

Storm -Scares the shit out of me. Totally a dude.

Jill - Has one of those smiles that makes you want to put a torch to her face. At first I thought she was a good singer, but now I see she's a one trick pony who gets more and more annoying every week.

Patrice - good singer, but not memorable.

Toby - completely useless.

I guess it's the high hairline and broad shoulders that freak me out. Plus she storms that stage like a drunk bar brawler looking for a fight. Just a little too manly for my tastes.

Well, you obviously don't know that out of all this year's wannabe "rockstars" the girl's already got the most established career in the music industry of any of them. So, it won't be that big of a deal if she loses. She'll just keep on releasing her own solo albums.

Check here for more info on her...

Patrice is bisexual? Interesting "fact" (since it is on wikipedia, who knows if it is true).

I love Storm.

As for the song list for tonight:

Spoiler:
THANK GOD NO NIRVANA TONIGHT!

I am attracted to her intensity. I'm just surprised you don't feel Dilana is also manish.

Well, all the Wiki article does is link to the Austin Chroncle article which discusses it, so I'd say it's pretty solid.

wow, just watched the reality episode. they had to write original lyrics and melody to a supernova song (that has clapping and "woo-hoos" in it... kinda lame)

Dilana's lyrics were AWFUL. some of the cheesiest words i've ever heard in my life.

"bring your wine and your song, your lotion and your thong"

WTF?

the rest of the performances are on the rockstar site. After listening to them, my opinion is:

Good:
Josh (i actually REALLY liked his song)
Patrice

Average:
Toby (I almost put him into the good... but he was clearly below josh and patrice for me)
Lukas
Magni
Ryan
Storm (I almost dropped her down into the bad... her lyrics were kind of hokey)
Zayra (can't believe she wasn't awful... this was actually the best she's been... and it still wasn't that good)

Bad:
Jill (oversang badly - what else is new)
Dilana

I actually would have guessed full on lesbian for Patrice, so I can't say I am surprised in the least bit. I can also see Dilana easily being into girls as well as guys, or pretty much anything for that matter. Even donkeys in Tijuana.

Lots more good performances tonight than we've seen in a single week. Storm is fucking annoying when other people are singing. She seriously needs her knees taken out so she can't stand up there like that.

Mark Burnett influnence on the show. Last year it seemed real, this year his touch is nowhere to be seen.

INXS was gracious, and kind towards everyone, while giving solid advice.

Dave Navarro was playing the "Tommy Lee" part last year, and INXS offered a nice balance.

The House band sounded 10000% times better last year. I recognize the main guy is still there, but is the guitarist the same? He was WAY better last year. Maybe it's just the sound at the Mayan vs. the phony Mayan? (Did they film all of last season there, or just the first part of the season?)

The biggest problem is, that "Supernova" is a joke of a band. M.B. should have taken longer to find a real band needing a singer instead of throwing together this poor excuse of a band. Watching the whole opening of last year, with them showing INXS in stadiums and such, and the chance for the winner to sing those songs, made for much better TV.

They need to be doing more metal songs in the Performances, and (shock) maybe even doing Metallica/GnR/Motley Crue songs.
Excellent points. All of them.

I'm starting to think she may be the result of a hookup with the great Tony Clifton after a night of performing at The Tick-Tock Lounge in Reno.

I really haven't liked Lucas as much as the band this year but he really did an awesome job. Actually, all the guys did better than any woman. Dilana was horrible in my opinion but they had to give her props since Gilby played and they wanted to make a point that everyone should have picked that song. She screwed up the timing once and just didn't sound very good through the whole thing. The next 3 out should be how the early voting showed. Jill, Zayra, and Patrice.

Man Dilana was pissed when her plan to destroy lucas backfired!..It was pretty funny. For the record, lucas still sucks. As far as everyone getting shit for not picking the Gilby song, that's pretty weak. They stress how important song selection is and obviously people want to pick something they'll sing well, rather than just play on a cover song, that really doesn't reflect what Supernova is about other than the fact that Gilby's playing on it. The song's not going to sound any different than it would if he wasn't there.

Sure it would sound different. It would sound better, since Gilby's a shitty guitarist.

I chuckle every time Dave asks the singers how they feel after someone from Supernova performs with them, as if it is akin to a religious experience. It's as though he thinks that it's a life altering experience.

Poor Dilana. She gets stuck with Gilby Clarke, someone that absolutely no one will be excited that she played with.

I would enjoying watching Dilana more if not for all that shit in her face. Those chin piercings make me wince.

When Lukas started singing "Creep" and they cut to Supernova looking bored, I immediately thought of Beavis & Butthead "Hold on, wait, this part sucks but then it gets cool." And then when he hit that big note, they were totally like B&B "YES!"

I wonder how many of these people knew who Gilby even was before this show.

"It's Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, and the guitarist from Guns n Roses."
"Wow, Slash!!!!"
"No, the other one."
"Oh, Izzy Stradlin? That's cool, too!"
"Um, no. The other one."
"Uhh.. what, that guy with the bucket on his head? Okay, he's a little weird but he is a pretty good guitarist..."
"You know what? Forget it!"

And Josh almost seemed annoyed that Tommy would be joining him on stage.

They should have announced it as the guitarist from Heart. More people would know who he is.
