Her mom is a hottie too.

The hetero male in me definitely will not complain if Kat stays in the public eye, but I don't ever want to hear her sing again. I have never been a fan. My vote goes to wanting to see her as the next American Bunny. :eyebrow:
|
I think it's ridiculous how biased the 3 morons aka the judges are. Randy and Paula have had their heads in Taylors crotch for so long. I also don't think Simon should have said that Taylor won. Newsflash...the judges don't decide who wins. Votes decide. Taylor is a good singer yes, but other than that he's a joke. Simon once said he looked like a wedding singer and he so reminds me of Jon Lovitz's character in The Wedding Singer. He's laughable on stage. At least McPhee has the stage presence.

I can't believe Randy tells Taylor he was "pitchy" and then after all that off-key singing Katharine did, he just tells her it was the song's fault. -screwy-
Did anyone see the look of horror on Kat's mom's face when she hit that one really long, awful note? We ran that back a couple of times. |

That is Katharine to me. Show a moment of greatness, then later absolutely implode and be cruel enough to take us all with her. |
my dialidol results so far...
Spoiler:

Kat really butchered her last song IMO
|
By the way, Kat...After the last song, that was the right moment to talk about non-working ear monitors.
|
Kat was very good on the 1st two songs and absolutely horrible on the 3rd. Taylor was very good on the 1st and 3rd, average on the 2nd.
Taylor should win but he has been pushed so hard that I wonder if there will be something of a backlash. IMO the judges have been unusually rough on Kat the last few weeks (one week even having to apologize for it) and (at least tonight) were heavily bias toward Taylor even to the point of practically declaring him the winner before the voting began. I actually felt a little sorry for Katharine. I still think Taylor will run away with it but I'm sure the way the show went tonight with the strong bias for Taylor will really fire up the McPhee voters. |
I was rooting for Elliot and Chris Daughtry.
At this point, both Taylor and Katherine are equal in my eyes, I like both of them pretty much the same, so I'm not voting. |

For the life of me, I can't see how anyone thinks Taylor is commercially viable as a radio artist. His original song sucked hardcore.
Kat got hosed by being pegged with one of the most horrendous original songs ever performed in front of a live audience. The lyrics were pathetic, the melody was non-existant, it didn't fit her voice or pitch AT ALL. As someone else brought up, I can't believe they allowed these horrible songs to be used when they don't fit the singers at all. This IS a singing competition, and while I wished Elliott could have won, Taylor's singing voice is just average at best. He's not a singer - he's an act. Kat didn't do herself any favors either, but I think her niche would be doing Enya-style work with a classical/operatic flare to it. That's where she shines. |
Seems pretty shitty that the crappy original songs end up being the last performance they give before getting voted on. Maybe they should save those songs for the results night. For the final night. they should be able to pick their own songs but not be allowed to sing stuff they have already done on the show. It's rather boring to hear them redo stuff that we have already seen them perform only a few weeks ago.

they havent shown the old clips where during the auditions simon voted no to taylor for hollywood and then went on to say that the other judges were making a mistake and would never put him into the final 24

kat is best watched with the sound turned off where she can have moments that are pretty good.. she can have just as many that are completely terrible and painful to listen to.. fun to look at, but as you mentioned, its a singing contest. |

Yeah, they showed it tonight plus referred to it again at the end when Randy and Paula were laughing because "Simon voted no". Simon responded "That's show biz". |

What a crappy way to end the competition; with two redo's and one just horrendous original song. The judges held back thier honest opinions, especially Simon. This show's all about advertising and it wouldn't have been good if the judges said the singles were utter shit like they were. I love the show because it's fun, but sometimes the commercialism gets a little nausiating.

Is it me or was the Taylor song just a rip-off of Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing"?
|
Wow...the two originals were REALLY craptastic.

• atlantamoi • Those two songs SUCKED, but Taylor made a piece of crap song sound bearable. I dunno. I actually enjoyed "Black Horse & the Cherry Tree", and I adore the "Over the Rainbow" performance, but I don't see how you vote for Kat when that awful mess of a song is her first single. Since we got down to about 5 or 6 people, I've felt that "None of the Above" is the real answer here, and tonight confirmed it. It's like they had 5 people all worthy of 2nd place, but no one stepping up to actually win. The producers clearly want Taylor, though, so I guess congrats to him. Hopefully they can put together some songs that don't suck ass like his "single". das |
1st round:
Kat - totally safe song that didn't really need to be re-sung. Taylor - used the song to announce that he wasn't taking any prisoners by singing a song suited to his strengths. Taylor 1, Kat 0 2nd round: Kat - I don't think lightning struck twice, plus I think singing while sitting on the floor is just too gimicky. Taylor - he was pacing himself with this performance, he totally sang under the key of the song (needed to sing it higher to make it sound "right"). Taylor 1, Kat 1 3rd round: Kat - though she got saddled with a horrible song, her voice gave out through most of the big or long notes, and made her sound very ordinary. Taylor - pacing himself paid off big because he imbued his "original" song with much more passion and much better vocals to boot. Taylor 2, Kat 1 I suspect the vote will also be close, but given the choice these two, Taylor should win. |

Kat's voice destroys his, but she has no control. Taylor's voice is the definition of average, but it's consistently average, so he's never really going to sing something that makes your ears bleed.

Taylor kicked that chick's ass all over the Kodak Theater tonight. I would buy his album and that's the first time I've ever felt that way about any AI contestant ever. Although I could also see myself getting into a Chris Daughtry led album, but only if he was with a real band, not just some AI thrown together accompaniment.
