Does anyone think there is any significance to Locke not telling Eco about him falling in the dream?

Who said anything about faking her death?

The girl in the flasback didn't fake it - she died and didn't come back to life until her autopsy, and had "met" Echo's brother while she was out. I feel that it was implied that Libby could come back to life just the same, and maybe have a similar revelation.

Also didn't mention the wheelchair. But I don't really; Locke seemed pretty shaken up about the dream and the fact that Eko knew what it was.

Well, it does account for the polar bears, since they were doing gene therapy experiments to rapidly climatize polar bears to tropical conditions.

Old experiment gone bad."Others' were part of it.Found out they were being observed in the hatches and left. Now a new experiment is going on....? or simply, during this experiment gone wrong, somehow the participants got 'infected' or whatever and now are not allowed to leave the place they are at ( bearded man, imaginary line, cant leave via boat ) and this is now a new experiment.....?

From the preview for next week, I think the wait for season 3 is gonna be a bitch !!!

Yeah, on Lost no one ever discusses what they see (unless it's a sweeps episode).

Right. If the cable running into the ocean is what's powering the hatch(es?), then why not disconnect it. Why do they need power if the experiment had been shut down?

I believe the Others know the hatches are there. Remember the medical hatch with Mr. F in it?

I get the feeling that the hatches were abandoned quickly. I agree with the poster who says that the Others know not to populate the hatches. Why, I couldn't tell you.

It is aptly called "The Staff"

Just a note about Libby... if her last name is what I think it is, I expect we'll be seeing --or learning -- more about her in the future.

The internet scuttlebutt has her as
Spoiler:
being married to a man named Widmore. The Widmore family is prominently featured in the recently released novel "The Bad Twin."

According to the blast door map, the six stations are:

1) The Staff (Medical)
2) The Flame
Spoiler:
where Desmond is; Kelvin told him to go there if there was ever trouble

3) The Swan (Electromagnetic Research)
4) ???? (Zoological, according the map)
5) The Pearl (Observation)
6) The Arrow (Looked just like a storage shed; where the Tallies were)

But they were at The Staff when they were after Claire's baby, and that was what, 1 month ago Island Time? (I'm not sure of the time line, but it was fairly recent).

My guess on why they don't populate the hatches (at least the hatches that we know of), is that they are afraid of having the Losties run into them. They may not be keeping tabs on them at all times and they wouldn't want a rogue squad of Losties (like Ecko and Locke this episode) just randomly finding a hatch and walking in on them.

Spoiler:
Even more so, she is rumored to give Desmond his boat for his "trip around the world"

Also,
Spoiler:
the name Widmore has been seen several times throughout the series - the construction building where Driveshaft films their video, the lab where the pregnancy test was made, etc.

Nice work. What about the symbol that was on the shark. Does anybody remember what that one was?

I think that's a strong possibility, or they inhabit the hatches on a rotating basis and then make it look abandoned should the Losties stumble upon them. As we've seen from Mr. Friendly's beard, they are actively deceiving the Losties.

Thanks, just trying to help my fellow LOST fans try and make sense of what's going on. I appreciate the comment.

BTW - if we can dig up a pic of the shark or polar bear, then I think we'll have the third station.

Found a few of the shark, lets see if this works:

Here's a pretty big blow up.

Hmm. Hard to say. Looks like a straight line to me.

Looks just like the generic symbol with DHARMA written across it. I thought the polar bear's was a little clearer.

This episode is already available on ABC's streaming site:

(particularly good for those of us who missed the final few minutes of it)

I think the whole meta-fanboy/forum-experiment/choose-your-own-adventure theory about the writing of Lost is pretty interesting. Little things about the show creep into my consciousness all the time - saw M:I 3, and looked for Dharma symbols in the background (almost thought I saw one on Ethan Hunt's pistol grips, but it was just the Beretta logo), and waited to the end of the closing credit's for Abrams' shout-out to the Hanso Foundation in the "special thanks" portion. Also thought of the Dharma Project when I read this article today: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060511/D8HHIDO80.html. Saw one of those message tubes at the grocery store, and the Pearl Station flashed in my head.

Have been loving the May Sweeps episodes, and appreciate the slower, mid-season episodes more now. Contrary to what I thought mid-season, the writers/producers seem to have building toward something the entire season. Which is nice.

If the printouts are a record of the Swan Station's computer, the presence of varying numbers on the printout may be an indication that each resident of the Swan Station was given different numbers to enter into the computer before pushing the button. Some may have been told to start at 0000000001, and type the next sequential number until their time was up. Something of that sort. If they are printouts of the Swan Station computer, they would have a record of Michael and Walt's communication, if the ink doesn't run out of the printer.

I don't think that Michael's crime was recorded in the Pearl Station, because the attendants were supposed to write everything they saw on the monitors. Maybe it is recorded, and the Pearl Station is some sort of honesty experiment.

I love this show.

cheers,

-the Jesus
