I thought it was especially idiotic that Walt was gesturing to them to be quiet and then they start yelling. Good going!

Good LORD. Is it possible to have a LOST that:
A) doesn't bitch, bitch, bitch about the flashbacks (it is built into the show people... love it or leave it)?
B) doesn't bitch, bitch, bitch about how long it will be until the next new episode?
TV scheduling has been this was FOREVER! You get one new one that is typically a "Christmas" episode in December and then nothing until late January. I can't remember when it wasn't like that - we at least since shows became 22-24 episodes a season.
Where do you get the "not stretched out" comparison? British shows are like 6-8 episodes a season. Then they either rerun those episodes constantly until the next "season" is ready or replace it with something else. Their seasons don't start in September and end in May. One reason American TV "stretches" things out as you claim is for - GUESS WHAT? - ADVERTISING! That's where the money is. If we got it all in 10-12 episodes, who'd rewatch the repeats?
If you hate the pacing and hate the waiting, why torture yourself. Stay away from late night shows with jokes and/or guests from LOST and basically bury your head in the sand until the next DVD set comes out.
On another note, GREAT episode. I loved the Sayid "I'll be right back" line - definitely an homage to Scream.
Can't wait for next week. I have a feeling we'll get more detailed flashbacks of what brought the plane down from the Tailies.

As much as I like Lost I hate they way they stretch things out just for the sake of it. People dont talk about things like a normal human being would trying to find out answers, they leave you hanging so they can stretch things out for 8 seasons. They have gotten a bit better this season but I am surprised the average viewer is hanging in there.

As to why Shannon, perhaps she had some unknown extra-sensory abilities that make her more receptive to such things. Or maybe she was Walt's favorite.

Jack at least appeared in the episode for about 2 seconds.
I'm
at no Kate.I f'in hate Michelle Rodriguez like the rest of you.
I kinda liked the flashback. Now that we know a bit about each character, they don't need to be as long as they have been. This episode felt fine for me in terms of length of flashback.
The article that was posted on page 1 or 2 has a picture, that I think is from
Spoiler:
I saw that ending coming, but I still liked it.
I don't think Sayid saw Walt either. I think that muttered "yes" was to just agree with Shannon.
Those whispers are kinda scarry.
I wish the tailies would have encountered the jungle monster for a little bit. That could of been fun. Maybe next week.

Shannon and Sayid are embracing in the rain. The voices begin to whisper. Shannon reacts to them, as does Sayid.
Sayid sees something over Shannon's shoulder.
The shot then cuts to Shannon; she turns her head and sees Walt.
The shot cuts again to both Shannon and Sayid looking in the same direction.
SHANNON: Do you see him?
Sayid nods yes.
Shannon calls out his name and starts to go after him.
Sayid is frozen for a beat, as he calls out her name and begins to pursue her.
...
So it certainly looked like Sayid saw something in the jungle before Shannon did.

Come to think of it, didn't Shannon hear the voices the first time she saw Walt? I no longer have the episode recorded. Maybe he appears to warn them that The Others are near? (There were no voices before Walt appeared in the tent this episode, though.)

Decent episode. It was a little predictable, but at least they finally (hopefully) killed Shannon off. There was a part of me secretly hoping they had some great plan to make her interesting this year and that last year was misdirecting setup, but now that it's clear she's just a bad character, they may as well kill her off and use that to further develop Sayid.
Nice fake advertizing too. "Every season, there's an episode you can't miss ..." Bullshit. Nice bait-and-switch promoting it as a Sawyer episode.

Here's something that just struck me as interesting about the episode. They made it a point to show Sayid taking out his gun in the tent. We did NOT see who shot Shannon. Now this may be a case of walks like a duck talks like a duck, but that scene struck me weird. Now maybe it's possible that Walt shot Shannon, and the tallies reaction is that "some wet kid just shot that lady". But I think it's entirely possible that it was NOT Ana that shot Shannon.

I thought for sure Sayid was gonna be the one to buy the farm when he was leaving the tent and said "i'll be right back".
I want to see more hatch action, i hope they go back to that again soon.

Does anyone think they may have a "who do I save" decision by Jack between Shannon and Sawyer?
It would be funny if Jack chooses Sawyer and porks the Rutherford (?) family again.

Even though there is a spent gun, a gunshot, a bleeding lady, all of that does not equal with absolute certainty that it was Ana that shot Shannon. Not on this show at least.

Here's another mind-blower:
Walt appeared and told Shannon and Sayid to be quiet (Shhh). But what would they have to fear from the Tallies and Michael, Jin and Sawyer? Nothing, they are friendlies. It's more likely that there was something ELSE there that they needed to hide from, and that something else what shot Shannon.
