Wow, what a train wreck this show has become.

You guys are feeling too old for this stuff at 23; I felt like Old Man (or Woman) River at 34. I keep remembering the good old days and thinking it can't get much worse each year, but it does.

I channel surfed through lots of it, it was just too painful to watch.

Diddy? You guys have said it all. He was trying so hard and failing at ever moment. When he had the "dance off" with Omarion (who, btw should by another outfit besides the black wife-beater and black jeans). What was that?

Hammer....I didn't know what to feel. Embarrassment...maybe. Laughter...c'mon, I just got finished hearing "You Can't Touch This" on the Purell sanitizer commercial am I supposed to take this seriously. I was probably just confused as the audience I guess.

I didn't see Diddy's mother's hair, but I already know from previous pictures that it was a blonde mess. You know, with all of those millions it seems like girl could go get a decent hair weave. Heck, I can recommend some places here in the D that I'm sure she can afford.

R. Kelly, no, we haven't forgotten your 18 ahem, alleged counts of sexual misconduct with minors just because you've made 13 editions of "The Closet". I made my mother stop what she was watching and see it. She kept saying, "Does he know that he messed up the lip synching?" I told her that I don't even think he was trying to hide it. After the performance my brother looks over to me and says, "I've just lost the will to live." Chappelle would have had material for the whole season off that performance alone.

Lots of the matchups were so akward you didn't know if it was part of the schtick or what...Piven and Lil Kim, Lil Jon and Rubino, Jessica and Ashlee...all just weird.

Shakira and Kanye (with Jamie Foxx who was about the only one who showed some singing power) were about the best that performed.

50/fat joe thing..

At the end of the GUnit performance, Fifty Cent says to the crowd " Shug is a *****", "Shug is a motherfucking *****", " Fuck Fat Joe" "Fuck Fat Joe", about 2 more times. He ended it saying " Terror Squad are motherfucking ******* and they need to stop this shit","Fuck them"

Fifty Cent runs off stage, where backstage you see Terror Squad chase after them. About 10 seconds later, about 20 policeman run across the stage and follow where the GUnit crew went.

Following this, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Mike Jones and every other rapper or person of interest in the celebrity seating immediately stands up, proceeds to get on their cell phones and start talking to the other celebrities in person about what just happened.
Not to mention that at this point Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z were now surrounded by huge bodygaurds.
Diddy returns to the stage and looks somewhat bothered.

I usually use it as a term of endearment. I was responding to the comment BadlyDrawnBoy made about these girls being role models.

what more do you expect when you put hardened criminals and thugs in the spotlight and make them "stars"

You can take the thug out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the thug...or something like that

Thanks for the link. I missed it yesterday but I'm sure that Muchmusic here in Canada will replay this show countless times albeit with edits.

Reading through this thread, it seems that I didn't miss much although I'm dissapointed to have miss Shakira's performance.

I agree wasn't great either, but I did enjoy Green Day, Coldplay, The Killers, Shakira's body, and Kelly Clarkson getting all wet at the end wasn't too bad either.

I'm a pretty big fan of Gwen Stefani, but that outfit almost made her look ugly. Which kind of says a lot, considering the outfits she usually wears. The hi-res pics were nice to see her eyes close up.

I'm also a big fan of Gwen, but I thought she looked hot. I guess each to their own.

So is MTV at all interested in bringing back B and B? Or was that just a "hey look we remember what we use to have...so lets use it again" moment.

After thinking about it a little, I've come to the conclusion that my problem with the dress is there was no belly showing. I find that is one of her best attributes, and I didn't get to see it this time.

Um, Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba are arguably the 3 hottest ladies out there in the U.S. right now. They may look goofy in some of these pics (like you'd like good in every picture you took), but it always amazes me how people comment on these goregous women like they're just average. Hilarious.
