Howard Stern and E?

Does anyone know why E is ending taping the Stern show so early? Why not ride it out until the end of the year.

I take it that means they're not going to tape him on Satelite either?

I know the contract was up with E!, and I read a few weeks ago that he was shopping around for another TV outlet, but I don't know what happened with it.

Hopefully it is with a pay channel like HBO, that would be awesome.

He always says it's the highest rated show on E!

Surely they would renew it...

Can somebody explain the backstory of the Tell 'em Fred joke? Everybody seems to make that comment in every Howard Stern thread. I'm assuming it's from Opie and Anthony and they're making fun of Howard since he always claims to be the innovator of everything. Is Fred referring to Fred Norris?

Hes the top FOUR rated shows on E, not just top show. O and A wish they had one third the talent of stern. What do you expect.

It is funny, though, in any Stern thread there's obligitory O&A posts. We all know who the true KOAM is.

Hehe yep we do, The person with the 500 million dollar contract. I will say I get annoyed with sterns inability to get video games lol. But theres really no denying what stern did for radio. If even heard O and A say the same thing within the last few months. About how yeah stern was great blah blah blah but its all FCC this and FCC that...well whats it gonna be in 5 months. Those poor bastards are probably shitting themselves with sterns move to Sat. Cmon you know they are....

I dont know what Aphex is WTF'ing about lol...its not like E is a real network for gods sake.

What kind of ratings does Stern still pull in? Do many still watch him anymore?

(I used to, but the "everyone is trying to keep me down" bit got boring a few years ago)

Yeah, Howard was talking to someone about WOW(Whip'em Out Wed) that O&A started, and said he did something similar in Washington (I guess in the early 80's) and that he innovated everything in radio then said "Tell 'em Fred".

What do you mean "top FOUR rated shows"? I was only aware of just one show. What are the other three?

the show aired 11:00 + 11:30, and 2:00 + 2:30 a.m.
so I guess those were the four highest rated slots for E!
Without Stern, E! has less watchable stuff than PAX.
