Unbelievable. Since most of the stuff on TV.com seems to be on there because CNet got paid by the Networks to put it on there, not a surprise that CNet then buys their way onto a list. Just a warning, this rant gets a bit long, but even after a couple months I'm still pissed over this. Primarily because the only option I've had for looking up TV info for the past two months has been epguides.com, which... Well, it's not exactly a replacement for TVTome.
Obviously there is a lot of hatred for TV.com because it eradicated TVTome. So it's possible the hatred is blinding people to something Time Magazine can see. But, you go on TV.com and look at the forums and the only people you see talking favorably about the site seem to be the same 12 year olds that over-ran Gamespot and ruined TechTV the second it merged with G4. Dragonball Z ownz omg lol!!!11!1! Seriously, half their names are derived from DBZ for some reason. I've tried, really, but the site is just utterly useless for information and is far too congested. And, like I said, it seems like everything on the site aside from pure information are glorified paid advertising.
Despite all the hatred towards TV.com for reasons outside of the web-site sucking, I really think the overwhelming majority of people dislike the site because the design and features suck. Actually, Gamespot brings an interesting point to mind that has nothing to do with TVTome.
TV.com is completely unoriginal, so I don't quite see how it is "cool" by the lists standards. The site is a clone of the Gamespot site with limited tweaks to allow for episode guides and the like.
User Ratings for TV shows, taking up a third of the page no less? Come on. Not too much of something left from the Gamespot web-site that the web-designer was just too lazy to take out. "News" stories that primarily seem to be ads for the shows created by the studios? Then there's the front page. The current headlines "Watch Arrested Development Clips" "Dukes Reader Dish Contest" (Obviously a paid "feature" for the Dukes of Hazard movie) "Laguna Beach Clips!" "Brat Camp New Episode Tonight!" "Bo Bice Breaks Bone!" "Pam and Tommy Just Friends" (Yay, celebrity gossip!) Compare that with Zap2it's news, and, well... Uncool. "On Last Night", which is useless. Trivia. A "Sound-Off" that looks like more space to give positive reviews on certain shows. And then a list dedicated to their utterly retarded TV user ratings.
So regardless of the fact that using a video game site that focuses primarily on review/previews/ratings and news for a site with news and episode-guides for TV is uncool, there isn't a single thing on their front page aside from "What's On Tonight" that is even relatively useful. The rest all appear to be things that advertise shows that probably paid to be put on their site. Just goes to show how informative Time Magazine is nowadays I guess.

little late, but my ire is no less than anyone elses, this new site is just fugly.
I was trying to see who the blond goddess on Arrested Development was (first time I've really sat down and watched it) and I tried to use tvtome to find her and it was just plain ridiculous (Portia di Rossi btw)
I can't fathom how they think this is better, and hope that they kept the "blueprints" for the original layout (however that works)

I'll check that tvrage site more tomorrow. A little flashy, but not as bad as Tv.com. TVTome was simple and informative. Epguides is just the no-whistles version of TV.com and almost all links lead to tv.com.
I wish they would have incorporated the info from tvtome into the new site, instead of wiping everything out. That was just stupid.
