I definitely holds up for me. I can relate to sneaking into a hotel to meet Color Me Badd just as much today as I could in the 90's.

Yeah, if you want a show that does a pretty good job at the high school life than I would suggest checking out Degrassi: The Next Generation. It’s a little more dramatized than real life but what show isn’t?

I watched one of the better episodes last night, from season 3 where this hottie Ginger brings this tour to the Peach pit who are supposed to meet Burt Reynolds, really good fun episode

I still do not understand what they were thinking on that one. Did the actress that played Tracy want out or something? It looks especially bad when the did get back together they ended up not getting married.

I grew up with this show and loved it. Haven't seen it in a loooong time.

Didn't every character turn into a drug addict at one point or another during the college years?

I agree. This show was good in it's early seasons but I stopped watching after the first year in college. When the main actors start leaving, like on Melrose Place, than it is time to shut down shop.

I prefer the college years to the high school years, but that's mainly because Valerie was my favorite character in the series and I loved the Val-Kelly rivalry.

Yep, I'd pretty much agree with that.

re: Beverly Hills 90210 talk

Sorry to bump an old thread, but thought this may be of interest. My guest on today's episode of my TV Guidance Counselor Podcast is Christine Elise who played Emily Valentine on 90210 and actually wrote several episodes of the show as well. We talk about that, and a lot of her other work. It's a fun one.

re: Beverly Hills 90210 talk

A "reboot" is in being shopped around starring most of the original cast. Not actually a reboot since it would pick up with the same characters.

Hit 1990s teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 is staging a comeback. A reboot featuring a number of original cast members, including Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris is currently being pitched to broadcast and streaming networks with multiple buyers interested, sources said.

I hear the scripted project, from CBS TV Studios, features the actors reprising their characters two decades later but is not a traditional reboot. I hear the new Beverly Hills, 90210 comes from writers/executive producers Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini, who worked on the CW’s 90210 reboot and on Spelling’s series So Notorious, as well as CBS TV Studios-based Ghen Maynard who has a relationship with Spelling and Garth and executive produces the new series.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not...

I hope they add Shannon if she's up to it. I think everybody gets along with her now but who knows. Hopefully they can get Luke Perry away from Riverdale for guest spot.

They already had a reboot though it mostly featured new/young characters.

I believe when the show comes back after some time with the original cast it is called a "revival" as opposed to a "reboot."

That's what it should be called, but the press just refers to everything as a reboot now. Roseanne and Murphy Brown were called reboots.

I doubt FOX would buy this, even though they originally aired it, since they are going through a transition with Disney taking over. Plus, this show is produced by CBS.

The ages of the cast (pushing 50 or even older) don’t fit the demographic of The CW. I can see this probably hitting a streaming service.

Disney is not taking over the Fox network. They aren't part of what Disney is purchasing.

But they are taking over 20th TV and the FOX Network is buying less and less shows produced by outside studios. They want to stick to their own stuff.

5 of the 7 currently airing dramas on FOX are FOX owned.

So this will be a revival of a revival since they already revived the show ten years ago.

Just hope they don't try to set any new episodes with them all hanging out at the beach.

re: Beverly Hills 90210 talk

I wonder if the CW show would be canon or just ignored.
