And Vonzell? I didn't used to like her but damn, she's gorgeous.

I'm trying to pick on you, dude, but every unusual comment I saw that I wanted to reply to came from the same person.

Please. I forgot more about pop music than these people know in totality.

Everytime I hear McArthur Park, I can't help to think about the Weird Al Yankovic version titled "Jurassic Park".
Based on last night performances, I think Anwar is going home.

I'll start by saying Anwar is my fav. His version of Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" was just too incredible for words. That being said, he's been flat the past couple weeks. (not tone/pitch) I was looking forward to his version of September, but it wasn't anything spectacular. Hope he survives.
On the flip-side....Scott did not impress me at all, but he has been good the past couple weeks. I don't think he should have made the top 12, but these last couple weeks he has held his own.
Bo's song shouldn't have been included in the choices. Horns don't make a song a "dance" song.
Bottom 3
Carrie
Anthony
Scott
Home tonight
Carrie
I hope it's a half hour show. Even skipping thru on "Tivo" is getting hard...

As much as I hate to say it, Carrie was HORRIBLE last night...she may have been the worst of anyone. Hope her fans got the vote out last night.

Did you ever hear the Chaka Khan version or does your vast knowledge of the pop landscape end in the 90's like Carrie?
Please. I forgot more about pop music than these people know in totality.
And to some others' comments - while Carrie wasn't great last night (which I've even said), she was FAR from the worst one. She hits notes the other contestants don't even try to hit. People here want to rag on her for not knowing the song, but if you were born in the 80s and disco isn't openly played on the radio much, especially in Oklahoma, cut her some slack. This is a vocal/talent competition - not a song knowledge competition. I think the poeple that want her gone are people that don't like her country flare. Otherwise, anyone that says Constantine or Scott (or even Anthony) have more talent vocally than Carrie should't be anywhere near a phone when voting time comes around. These are probably the same people buying Clay Aiken records.

No, really.
As far as Carrie goes: it does strike me as odd that someone would pick a song and not know what they're singing about... how would you know how to sing it? Happy, sad? Just copying the original artist?
That being said, I'm sure if you ask most of us what the most influential country music songs were, we'd be stupefied. I mean, I know some Kenny Rogers and all, but it doesn't get much play on the West Coast...

Mixed on this one. It's hard for me to hear that song without the Be Gees high notes. It wasn't great, but not completely terrible.
Carrie
Probably my least favorite Donna Summer hit. I actually liked her rockin' out last week, but 80% of the time she just picks songs I hate. She does okay with them I guess, but it gets to the point where I don't care.
Scott
A fair rendition, but his voice wavered a lot of the simple parts of the song. I still can't stand to look at him and his "I'm a hard gangsta mofo" personality drives me nuts.
Anthony
A bland rendition of a so-so song.
Vonzell
I hate that damn song, but she did a good job. Her personality carries her a lot. The vocals didn't blow me away but were more than adequate.
Anwar
Terrible. This performance REALLY pissed me off. He relied on the backup singer to sing the main hook of the song. Without that high voice lead-in to the chorus, why even bother with this song? To me, that IS that song. To let the backup singer carry the heavy load (the important part) is bullshit. Others last night had some moments where the backup singing was a bit too invasive, but nothing like this.
Bo
An enjoyable performance, but this is a big stretch of the theme. So they change it to '70's Dance Music'. The song was barely in the 70s to begin with, but dance music? Bo is becoming a little too predictable. I still think he has talent, but the new car smell has definitely went away.
What I would've liked to see last night:
Constantine: "I Was Made for Loving You"
Carrie: "Dancing Queen"
Scott: He probably picked the best song for his voice
Anthony: "I Just Want to be Your Everything"
Vonzell: "Heaven Must Have Sent You"
Anwar: "Disco Inferno"
Bo: "Macho Man"
