If he would rather be back in Assfuck Alabama doing the Electric Slide at Sweet Sixteens, then by all means head on back down there. His Rock-n-Roll Rebel bit closes out of town, I don't buy it for a second. Either commit to it fully and act like you want to be there, or go away and stop wasting my time. Pissant wedding singer.

When a show becomes that important to you, it's time to turn the TV off and start doing more things outside of the house. Christ, he was only saying that if he doesn't win, he's still going to go out and do what he enjoys, which is making music.

I doubt you would've lasted long on Sesame Street with that attitude, sir.

The song was written by Mac Davis but recorded by Crystal Gayle.

I felt almost nauseous when the female cheer came out of the audience when Constantine asked if they liked him sticking his tounge out during his performance.
After ANY performance I'll lay odds you will hear the following:
Randy Jackson]You know what dog? I thought you chose a safe song man. You started out a little pitchy at first... but you came out and you did your thing. I was feeling you dog, I was feeling you.
And...
Paula Abdul]I have GOOSEBUMPS! You are a STAAARRR! I'll see you in the finals! Every week you have gotten BETTER and BETTER! I am so PROUD of you! I LOVE YOU!Don't forget the "bad review" cliches as well... they almost always start their negative reviews like this:

Randy: "(Name of contestant, maybe three times). So look..."

Paula: "You know I adore you..."

Simon: "If I'm being honest..."

Not that anyone here gives a rat's ass (except me), but it was actually written by some woman named Sandy Mason. Apparently she's a fairly prolific Nashville songwriter.

Would you have rather he acted like that insane Regina woman from the auditions, who sounded like she would blow her head off if she didn't make it through? I hope she's recovered, b/c at one point she seemed on the verge of a breakdown. Some of the early contestants are like "I don't know what I'll do if I don't make it. *sob* Music is my life!!! I have to sing!!! It's what I was meant to do!! Please don't send me home!!" For fuck's sake...no sane person should take a show judged by those three nutjobs that seriously. I watch it purely to cheer good performances, make fun of bad ones, and to laugh at Seacrest and Paula for various reasons. I don't expect to see a future R&R Hall of Famer up there. It's just a fun waste of time to look forward to every week, nothing more.

Bo's been performing the bar band circuit for years, and I wouldn't doubt he auditioned on a lark/bet/dare. I'm not saying he phones in his performances or isn't trying. I just don't think he cares that much about winning AI. I took his attitude as more like, oh well, it'd be nice to make it through but if I go home it's not like I'll stop singing or performing.

I was glad he was in the bottom 3, though. Freebird was his dullest performance yet for me and the rocker cliche moves are getting tired. I have a feeling Constantine, with his theater background, may actually be the more versatile of the two "rockers". Bo just comes off as less of a poser. But I really don't know if Bo could have pulled off "Bohemian Rhapsody" as well as Con. I think Bo's early song choices are really what helped him the most. "Drift Away" is such a catchy song that only a truly horrible singer could ruin it, and "Whipping Post" was a cool and somewhat risky choice (for AI) that he did well. Other than that he's been pretty meh for me, and his voice goes from strong to average bar rocker mid-song sometimes. I predict Carrie, Constantine, and Anwar in the final three.

I think Bo summed it up with, "It's all gravy from here." Everyone left on the show at this point is going to see a huge jump in their career. Bo's probably been scraping by on gigs and odd jobs since high school. Even if he did get eliminated in this round, things are going to be a lot easier for a long time to come.

I was sorry to see Nadia go, but realistically she had no shot at getting to the final show, let alone winning American Idol. It's not her scene.

I agree with this statement. I was surprised when he chose Remedy as his favorite. That song was the start of his descent. I don't agree with you about his voice. With the right song, he sounds great. Early on when he and Constantine were being lumped together he was consistantly blowing Constantine out of the water. Freebird isn't exactly known for the vocals. If he was in a guitar contest and he could play all 3 parts by himself, then it might've worked.

If Bo gets another shot at an Allman Brothers song he should take it. He'd probably do well with a BoDeans song.

Being that AI always has that one person no one likes to see advance, but manages to make it into the final 3 or 5 (Nikki from Season 1 and the Redhead from last season) It looks like Scott or Anthony are headed towards there. Make your pick.

If memory serves, Clay Aiken was never in the bottom 3 either. Of course the only difference is that Kelly won!

Bo's comments were a bit suprising. Now he's in between being a rocker and being a sellout. I'm pretty sure that people that he knows in the rock world believe he sold out to be on the show. Especially when he sang the musical the other week. It's like he's trying to back off of it a little bit so he looks more like a hardass rocker. He needs to embrace it or quit. Instead, he acts as if none of this matters to him. Pick a side, dude.

ENOUGH with the Constantine nonsense. The Bohemian Rhapsody was a sad display that could have been duplicated by any of my stoner bong-wielding friends in college. It was a poor karaoke version of a song originally performed by someone that could actually SING. To say that Constantine did anything original on that stage is laughable and even Simon is being sucked into the Tiger Beat hype.

In unison now:

He did pick a side. Bo clearly stated he closed his eyes and picked a song at random on the musical night. Bo is Bo. He's not trying to be anything he's not.

That being said, I don't believe he belongs on the show. He's not a lamer pop singer period.

I thought Bo's attitude was refreshing, especially compared to those people that were eliminated early on and weakly shuffled through their final songs through tears ("Oh noes!").

Bo knows (heh heh) that he's probably not going to win this, and that he's probably better off if he doesn't (see Aiken, Clay).

Clay was in the 2nd season (the year after Kelly), but I don't know if he was ever in the bottom three --- there HAS to be a website somewhere with this info! You KNOW there is!

He already sold out so he might as well go for it. He's nothing more than a good rock singer and they are a dime a dozen. He doesn't have anything unique to him compared to any other decent rock band singer out there. The only place he is unique is in this competition. Who knows, maybe the exposure will get some of his original music noticed and he will get his break. There is just something that turns me off about someone entering a competition and then basically saying you don't care if you win or lose. Lose with dignity.

I hate Contantine, but even I have to admit that he did a good job on Bohemian Rhapsody. That is a hard fucking song to sing and to my ears he didn't fuck it up.

I don't know about the bottom three, but I do know that he was cut in the pre-final twelve rounds by the voters. He then made the final twelve as a wild card pick (when they still had those) from one of the judges. Not sure which judge.

First of all, there are people outside, so that's a no go.

Even if he loses, Bo's career will definitely get a boost from the show and maybe a record deal. If he wins, he's got the guaranteed gig and AI machine behind him. The very least he can do is pretend like he wants to be there and stop distancing himself from the competition. If he feels like he's being perceived as a sellout, then either get over it or go home.

Back to S1, didn't Kelly finish in the bottom at least once? I think it may have been when there were only four or five left, but I remember the audience booing the heck out of the announcement.

somewhere along the way constantine moved past Bo, and Vonzell moved past Nadia. It's too late for Nadia, but Bo still has a chance. He needs to take Simon's comments to heart, Rock out a song that you would not think you could Rock out.

I am suprised once again to see how perceptive Simon is, after hearing Nadia, he knew he did not have to hear anytone else that night, he told her after going FIRST, that she was going home. And Bo, he told him he was not going to get people calling for that performance. Geat Job by Simon, where would this show be without him?

That being said, they need to groom a replacement, he will only last another season or two before boredome sets in. So its a very good opportunity to replace Paula next year to find a possible replacement, I was thinking Bette Midler could be a great Judge, and would go toe to toe with Simon.

TV Tome lists the bottom three for all of the seasons except season one.

Yeah - I knew he was in the 2nd season, but I just didn't recall him ever being in the bottom 3. Another reason why I still think Clay should have won.

That's a pretty cool website - thanks for posting it. I didn't realize the Kimberley Locke (who came in 3rd) was in the bottom 3 early on, when Vanessa was voted off.
