American Idol 04/12/05

Who will get kicked out tomorrow night?

Jray 04-12-05 11:36 AM

If Anthony doesn't get booted from this or Chris from 'The Apprentice' this week... I give up. I'll quit watching "reality" TV. ;) You might say I love to hate these guys.

LorenzoL 04-12-05 11:44 AM

My vote goes to Scott.

Charlie Goose 04-12-05 12:25 PM

I think the theme tonight is "A Song from the Year You Were Born", which opens it up to any genre with which they feel most comfortable.

Quote... if that the theme tonight then there were some really ggod songs in 1986 and real stinkers... that and Bo and Connie pretty much have the same era.

We've got "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" from Robert Palmer... "You Give Love a Bad Name" from Bon Jovi... "Burning Heart" from Survivor... "Sledge Hammer" from Peter Gabriel.

Could be a fun night for them.

Groucho 04-12-05 02:55 PM

Bo and Constantine are both 29, not 19. So 1976.

Constantine: "Silly Love Songs" (Wings)

Bo: "Afternoon Delight" (Starlight Vocal Band)

Goldberg74 04-12-05 03:20 PM

Whoops... I must have been thinking of possibilities for Trach Boy... but then again the #1 song of '86 was "That's What Friends are For." (But I'd rather he sing "Dancing on the Ceiling" so he can blow it andwe can kick him out.

Must be my age showing through. I should have known that, I'm 30 and I was born in '74... where's my head at?

Wait, don't answer that.

LorenzoL 04-12-05 07:11 PM

I think is the first time ever that I actually agree with something Paula said but Nadia did look stunning in that red dress.

However, I give her a :thmbsdwn: for the song selection.

FantasticVSDoom 04-12-05 07:18 PM

The problem I see with Bo is he picks really great songs, but the back up band is all wrong for them...I also agree with Simon in that the people who vote for this show have probably never heard of Freebird with the exception of that bad techno song that came out a few years ago.

never heard "Freebird"?????????????

LorenzoL 04-12-05 07:23 PM

I felt that Bo's performance was just okay, nothing special. Maybe I was expecting more from him tonight.

In regards to Anwar, the judges (with the exception of Paula) were right, one of his better performances since he made the final 12.

Josh-da-man 04-12-05 07:25 PM

Nadia - Horrible song choice. Could be a critical error since she's been flirting with the bottom three. She needs to do songs that have decent hooks instead of wasting her time with these ballads.

Bo - Solid but not outstanding. He hasn't torn shit up in weeks.

Anwar - Snoozefest. Talk about musical wallpaper...

Fed's on now... he's pretty meh so far.

GuessWho 04-12-05 07:26 PM

Ugh.

Everytime you go away? Time for you to go away, Anthony.

Ketamine 04-12-05 07:38 PM

Scott's gone.

invisiblegt 04-12-05 07:38 PM

Scott Savol - Comes in and states that "he's the real rocker in the competition."

Then sings Hall and Oates.

Way to back that "rocker" fact up buddy...

LorenzoL 04-12-05 07:39 PM

Fun performance by Vonzell and I'll be surprised if she end up on the bottom 3 again this week.

LorenzoL 04-12-05 07:40 PM

Bye Bye Scott, don't let the door hit you on your way out.

MJG87 04-12-05 07:51 PM

Scott shoulda been gone way before Nikko :thmbsdwn: Scott needs to go

LorenzoL 04-12-05 07:52 PM

I liked Carrie's performance and her version of "Love is a Battlefield".

invisiblegt 04-12-05 07:54 PM

If they make one comparison to Freddie Mercury with this horrible rendition of Bohemian Rapsody, I'm going nuclear on their buttocks.

Quake1028 04-12-05 07:55 PM

Carrie and Bo were both pretty average tonight. I thought Anthony and Vonzell were the best so far. Nadia is probably gone, Simon gave her the kiss of death quite a few times.

Quake1028 04-12-05 07:56 PM

WHAT THE FUCK IS PAULA ABDUL SMOKING? And can I please have some?

Josh-da-man 04-12-05 07:59 PM

Fed - So-so. Kind of a lame song, but it suited him.

Vonzell - She's improving week-to-week. Good performance.

Scott - I thought he was going to jump Simon. He's the real rocker. He deserves to be booted just for that lame-assed posturing.

Carrie - Pretty good. I prefer it when she rocks a bit. This and the Heart song from a few weeks ago were, to my ears, her best performances.

Goddamm, Constantine pulled it off. Best of the night. I hate to say this, but he gets better each week. He's a contender.
