hurley's line about the korean wife "dude your wife's hot!" was the best line of the night. as for shannon, when boone found the body i knew it wasn't real. i think it was probably a hallucination from the stuff that locke used to fix his head.

Dunno if you watched through the end of the episode, but it's absolutely not real. Boone saw his sister alive and well in the last couple of minutes. The question is...what induced his visions? Boone assumed it was the salve (or whatever), but Locke cryptically referred to the source as "it", so he could be referring to something else entirely (the island, perhaps).

Definitely thought Locke was referring to the island itself, or a entity on the island, and not the salve used on Boone's head wound. This is the same thing that Locke saw/experiened in an earlier episode when he was confronted by the "it."

The posts btwn 8:30 and 9 are hilarious - so gullible. I thought it was obvious that it was a delusion.

I can't decide if I am starting to see signs of Locke becoming some kind of a guru, or if he really is as much of an individualist as he has seemed previously - not the type to allow people to start following him.

I think Locke's name is a hint as to what he will become...its just a matter of are they using the name to DESCRIBE him, or describe his OPPOSITE?

How is it a bullshit post? I'm not gloating that I figured it out. I was disappointed that the execution was so ham-fisted that there really wasn't any other interpretation.

Look, I'm sorry I said anything. Apparently I deeply offended multiple people. If you were fooled, then the show did its job. I meant no offense. Let's just drop it.

Another great episode.

And I dug the ending w/ Boone finally realizing what Locke meant by "let it go."

I have been wondering when they were going to start a garden. Now how about some treehouses? Haven't any of these bastards watched The Swiss Family Robinson before?

Incest is NOT best.

Even though it's not blood incest, it's still kinda wierd.

Okay- so my tivo had this episode ending at 9:01, so I missed the last couple of minutes... ended with Locke saying something like "is that what you saw?"

Can anyone fill me in?

I'm new to DVRs. Guess I'll be padding Lost an extra five minutes.

theory time

theory time
this episode was about trust: Hurley, Kate, Boone and Locke trusting and developing relationships with others.

and the Tabla Rosa theories - Jack and his father, Locke and his disability, Boone and the dependency of his sister. having a blank slate is starting to happen to everybody.

the monster thing - monster thing appears when there is conflict and problems need to be resolved.

bits and pieces are coming together. you really have to watch these by yourself and take notes. the open storylines haven't been touched yet.

next week:
Spoiler:
the return of the Polar Bear

I'd like to pat myself on the back in being, I think, the first to call for the incest card. Even though it didn't turn out to be 'true' incest, it's still there.

12-9-04 Lost Thread

"Does anyone else get a strange feeling about Boone and Shannon, the 'siblings'?

Whenever they arrive on screen, they are always together, 'coming back' from somewhere.......all disheveled.

I'm just sayin'....."

Anyway, looks like Locke is actually expecting the island to divide into factions soon, with his "our side" comment.

Bring it on!

Well, i'll keep my bullshit post brief.

Kate? Still Hot.
Hurley? Hilarious.
Sawyer? WtF?

What made me think it might be a delusion/concussion/hallucination was the way Shannon's voice came from three distinct directions when Boone first heard her.

But that's just me.

It's like Lord of the Flies:
Jack = Ralph
Locke (I thought for sure the 2 sides would be Jack errr Matthew Fox vs. Sawyer) = Jack (from Lord of the Flies)
Hurley = Piggy

You're kidding, right? I mean, is there anyone that didn't suspect that from the first show? Were you the first to call the purgatory card also?

Anyway, great, exciting episode and I like how Locke is continually teased as a loose cannon only to come through. Maybe this can continue until he goes too far.

I'm surprised at the amount of people suspecting the hallucinogenic salve, because to me, I thought it was pretty clear that the scenario was set up somehow by the mystic island or island entity which Locke somewhat understands.

I suspected something was awry for the same reason... plus it just seemed "off." I asked my wife (when we first see her tied up)... "Is this real?" But after they kept going with it, I just assumed I was wrong. When they killed off Shannon, I believed it was true.

Now, like some others, I'm wondering if the flashbacks are true -- especially because they threw Sawyer in.

Same here. Fucking ABC.

The incest secret is friggin weak. It would have been better if they went with my theory that Shannon is Boone's stepmom.

I thought that odd as well. Of course I'm still holding out hope that Boone will turn out to be gay. And fool around with Charlie. Repeatedly.

Its simple, Shannon doesn't feel the same way about Boone as he does about her. She made it clear after they hooked up in the hotel that it was just a one time thing. A mercy F**k , you might say

Exactly...Locke asked him: "What did it show you?" Meaning the monster apparently reveals something to people who confront it, like Locke did early on. But we don't know what it showed him. yet.

That's it...

I'm calling bullshit.

All these people on here are now saying they knew all along. How about next time you post when it happens, spoilerized. Otherwise, get a clue, you sound lame saying you knew all the time, half an hour after the fact.....

Bullshit officially called.

The post is under review.

You folks with Tivo need to drop it for ReplayTV..my Replay always has the times/lengths of episodes right..

I don't know if it was some mysterious island force that caused the hallucination or the salve. What he said could mean either, and maybe they don't want us to know which or at least make us have doubts.

You're probably the only one that wants this.

Let's not turn Lost into Will & Grace.
