I'm sure that if Lionel doesn't remember anything at the moment, it'll come back to him at some point. After all, when he was blinded a couple of seasons ago, he claimed the surgery that was supposed to help was a failure. Then for quite some time, he didn't tell anyone that he was gaining/gained back his sight. It was all manipulation to keep an eye out on his empire and other things. And by that point he did admit to Lex that he caught everyone trying take advantage of him when they thought he couldn't see what was going on.

I believe that Lionel never actually was blind, he just wanted people to believe he was.

Actually, He may remember everything...It would be True that he did not remember the last 2 days in THAT body....He has lied before...

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the ep.

I thought there were a few funny parts - mostly due to Welling acting like Lionel, etc.

That irked me, too.

I was just happy to see them using John Glover again - this show is so much better when he is a part of the ensemble.

I totally forgot about the Lionel-Clark scene with Martha - 'give me a hug.' Then the heat vision is triggered just like with Clark in the Krista Allen episode from S2.

That scene gave me the creeps. I know it wouldn't technically be incest even if it was the real Clark since he's adopted. But it's still creepy. I did think this was a very interesting insight into Lionel's character, though... never knew he was hot for Martha.

I've just been watching Angel Season 3 and there is an episode just like this where the old man in the nursing home has a magic stone to swap bodies with young studs. He ends up swapping bodies with Angel and discovers the powers Angel has and misuses them.

Buffy also had a two-parter in Season 4 where Buffy and Faith switched bodies using a magic stone. Although in that case, both were slayers and had the same abilities.

What if switch the "Soul" a Krypton cured his physical and emotional sickness. That could make Lex dig back into what makes Clark tick.

Really? I thought this was pretty apparent in Season 2 when Martha worked as Lionel's personal secretary, and how he would occassionally ask Clark to give his regards to Martha after Martha stopped working for him.

The premise is the same: Clark loses his powers then they are misused. In this case, Lionel is the one that misuses them.

Because you didn't watch it, your opinion is irrelevant and invalid. Either way, if your that worried about recycled crap, then you better stop watching TV and movies altogether, because 99% of everything is recycled from something else. There are only a few original stories.

Well.. I was responding to another poster's comments that I would whine about the episode and watch it anyway, which i didn't.

I have no problem it recycling ideas from other shows but this is recycling ideas from other episodes which is not very creative.

maybe I'm taking this stuff too seriously, but it seems like if their souls/personalities are what is transferred, then the imprint of the events of those days by way of new synapse connections should remain in the same physical location - so Lex should only remember what events happened to Clark in his body, and vice versa.

I'm surprised that no one has made the Clark/Lionel body swapping connection to what happened to Lana in Paris. She obviously had a similar experience in Paris only not with a live person. She woke up the next day in her room with a new tattoo and no memory of what happened to her. We now find out that this the person she swapped bodies with was killed as a witch. Like Lana I believe Lionel does not remember what happened when he was in Clark's body at least for now. He may get these memories back as may Lana. At the very least Lionel should remember that he was planning on swapping bodies with Lex and that Clark jumped in before he could touch Lex. He should at least know that he temporarily swapped bodies with Clark and somehow that experience cured his liver condition.

What really puzzles me is how the math guy got into prison and assigned to Lionel's cell. After he got into the Limo with Kidder I started thinking that it was Swann that put him there. Swann actually taught the guy the meanings of all the Kryptonian symbols. What I don't understand is why Swann would want Lionel to swap bodies with Lex in the first place. Does he know that ultimately it is Lex that will be Clark's nemisis and wanted to eliminate him for Clark? When Lionel actually swapped bodies with Clark he had the math guy help Clark reverse the swap.

Oh heck I don't know. Just throwing some stuff out there. What does everybody else think?
