I kind of half expected to see Clark (as Lionel) after beating up the con to raise his hands and start the whole "I'm Castor Troy" thing.

I think this was Welling's best performance yet (actually, I think this was the strongest from the whole cast - even Chloe and Lana).

A great episode, as ususal John Glover still rules. Great acting between the differences between Lionel and Clark as Lionel. I'm happy to see things not end up peachy keen at the end too, with Lana and Chloe both peeved at him as the show ended. That diss on Chloe was so mean As for football, i can easily see the coach letting him play because of what Clark found out between him and Lana.

I liked this episode.

Like stated earlier, "badass Clark" episodes are always fun. It was also good to have Lionel back after a 3 week absence. I liked the part where Jonathan asks Clark to lift up the tractor and Lionel/Clark is like uhhh... how am I supposed to do that?

Why didn't Clark just tell Lana / Chloe that he switched bodies with Lionel? A little bit hard to swallow? yes. But Lex knew about it this time, so it's not like the secret was only within the Kent circle of trust. I didn't quite get how Lionel/Clark was able to super-speed away when Martha turned her back on him after using the Kryptonite. She just put it in her pocket, not a lead box...

Also I didn't expect Margot Kidder to be in the Limo, I figured it would've been Lex, and Lex would've wanted to know everything that Lionel had figured out about the artifacts, etc.... nice little twist. Maybe they will begin to explain how Dr. Swann (R.I.P. Christopher Reeve) got the key back in Season 3, and how they want to play out this story-arc.

This was one of the best episodes, acting wise and plot wise. After they switched bodies they really got how each other acts down. From how they talked, nuances, just the overall sense. It was good

I read the credits in the beginning of the show and had that part ruined.

I may be wrong, but I didn't think Lionel really had amnesia. I think he just told the doctor that; what was he going to say otherwise?

"Have you taken any unregulated medicines recently?"
"No, I just switched bodies with a superhuman."

Like Chew.. unfortunately, I DID expect Margot Kidder in the limo -- since we saw her name in the opening credits but she had's appeared yet with 1 minute left to go.

I really liked this episode except for the end where Lionel doesn't remember the last 2 days.

I loved this episode. Tom Welling was exceptional in conveying Lionel's facial expressions and mannerisms. He also seems to have bulked up a bit physically. Anyone else think he wants that movie role pretty badly?

My friends and I watched last night together and came up with a few things I haven't seen mentioned here.

First- we attributed the cured liver to Clarks' power to heal. Clark's soul was in Lionel's body, thus Clark essentially "touched" Lionel's liver. We've seen Clark touch many things and bring them back to health.

Second- I didn't take Lionel's amnesia line to mean he doesn't remember anything about Clark's powers. I assumed he meant he has no idea what happened with his own body over the last 48 hours. He couldn't know what supplements or treatments Clark may have taken, thus his response to the good doc. I'll be really disappointed if he forgets everything.

I wonder how the bully/fight/riot ramifications will play out for Lionel in the future. Now that he's healthy, he may be made to suffer longer.

Loved the ending with Margot Kidder. I also saw her name in the credits, but was still surprised to learn we've got a new player in the triangle of power. And, she may be evil. Really makes you wonder what could have been if Christopher Reeve were alive, though.

Well I believe that the other inmates will treat him with respect now, now that he (Clark) beat the crap out of the bully. If they didn't, they would have all kicked his ass right then and there.

Sadly, I saw the announcement. But, that's so recent that Tom may have still been actively pursuing the role at the time he began bulking up. Or at least, working on himself "just in case." Looks like his female Smallville fans will be the only ones to reap the benefits now!

I suspect you're right, but I was thinking more about punishment for being involved in a fight that began a riot. I didn't watch Oz, so I'm not familiar with the protocol!

You know, I dont' think that "movie announcement" is official. Last I read there was a bunch of paperwork that needs to go into it. I can honestly see it falling through - and I hope it does. I love superman, but WB is going to screw this up if they go through with that guy. i can't even begin to list the ways they will have screwed up if they actually sign him.

tom welling + brian singer = gold.

The only thing I didn't care for (other than the Star Trek-type resolution) was Jonathan's casualness about Clark's abilities. I mean, would he really tell Clark just to lift the tractor over his head? Especially with all of the unannounced visitors the farm seems to get. Pretty lame from someone who keeps spouting off about responsibility.

Heh, yeah... somebody always seems to walk up right after Clark uses his powers. Such as this episode where Clark throws the "missile pass" with the football at the well and the bucket explodes, then coach walks up like 3 seconds later

Good point. It always seems like someone is driving up or walking into Clark's Barn of Solitude every 15 minutes.

That was a pretty good episode, though I was dissapointed to see it resolved so quickly. Why can't Smallville have more two part episodes?

Does Margot Kidder being in the Limo mean that she's working for Lex? Or did she and the "Institute" get the crazy math scientist out of prison? It seems odd that Lex would use his influence to get the man released, but wouldn't be there to see him when he gets out.

Was it ever explicitly said that Lionel was the one who framed the scientist/inmate? As soon as the guy said he was framed, a warning bell in my head went off and said "Lionel did it."

Then, during Clark and Lex's conversation, I started to wonder if maybe Lex had somehow arranged for the scientist to go to jail with Lionel, as a means of keeping tabs on Lionel's research.

Then, when Kidder showed up, I was believing that Dr. Swan was in on it.

Dammit, this was a good episode. Much better than the normal Kryp/Tuck-style schlock.

You and me both. Clark's dark side brings a whole level of nuance to tom welling's acting that's wonderful to behold. For anyone who thinks he's too wooden of an actor, my response is to watch one the eps where he goes bad and compare to his normal "clark" to see that tom is just acting the part of clark kent to perfection. Clark IS a goody-goody, one-note personality most of the time, but tom welling is not. When the part calls for it, he brings a level of bad boy not often seen on tv these days, as spike and angel are gone. I love how he and lionel truly channeled the other's character - like how it used to be on xena when lucy lawless would play meg or the other xena-look-alikes...acting to be admired.

I thought this was a pretty great episode overall. There was some solid acting from everybody.

I am assuming that Lionel doesn't really have amnesia, but he's just pretending to. It wouldn't make sense if he didn't remember the body switch and Clark did, although Clark didn't remember everything that happened; he just remembered what happened.

I also figured that Clark's soul or whatever healed Lionel. It's along the same lines as Clark's blood having the power to heal.

The one thing I didn't like about the prisoners shaking down Lionel, is I just don't see that happening. Lionel may be in jail, but he would still have a lot of power. It would be like a Mafia member going to jail. People would respect him because he would be an important person to know. I don't watch this show expecting reality, so none of that really matters. Overall, this was one of my favorite episodes.

Welling never wanted to be Superman, and even said so in interviews. So I don't think his size is because of the Superman film, or him wanting it. Welling has always been a sizeable guy on this show with naturally muscular phsysique. He's just gotten a bit bigger every year.

His BF% also seems to have gone up a teeny bit. His face seems to be more fuller now.

best episode of the season. Great acting, Welling was amazing in the ep. Hopefully Lionel didn't forget everything. That made me upset, but I'm hoping he just said that to the doctor, not to give anything away...
