One touching moment never made it on the air. At the end of the evening, when The Sopranos cast was on stage because the show had won, series star James Gandolfini stepped up to the microphone, but he was cut off. Later, a producer said Gandolfini had intended to send well wishes to a platoon of troops in Iraq who had named and painted their Bradley Fighting Vehicle the Stugotz, the name of Tony Soprano's boat.

Emmy director Louis Hurwitz said he intended to let Gandolfini speak but then Shandling's microphone went on so they cut to him. "Unfortunately, with time restrictions, there's not much we can do," he said. "I'm never happy about those moments."

Glad to see Arrested Development has already won 2 Emmy's. Hopefully they get a few more.
