Dude, I'm so frickin excited! This will wipe the slate clean after america's tribal council (or did I not fully exorcize those demons in my DVD review? woops.)

I believe I've had my fill of the promos featuring Rupert. When do his 15 minutes run out?

Excellent review, by the way. I'm right with you on the whole America's Tribal Council. Bad, bad idea.

It also made me re-think my fondness for Rupert. I still enjoyed him during Season 7 but he turned into even more of a jack-ass during All Stars. Of course, perhaps back-to-back Survivors will do that to you.

I'm anxious to see how the one-legged contestant does. Sounds like a really cool guy.

Actually, I'm surprised at how not excited I am, considering I've seen just about every season since Australia. I wouldn't have even known that it is being shown tonight had it not been for this thread. I'm more excited for the Amazing Race finale next week and the new season in October, but I'll still be watching tonight.

I'm just looking forward to becoming as discombobulated as Rupert when watching Ami in a bikini.

It takes me a few weeks to really get into a season of Survivor, mainly because it takes me that long to remember the contestants' names.

I agree with that but I still look forward to it. Survivor always seems a little slow at first but it gets crazier after a while and is always fantastic by the midway point.

Plus every week, there's fewer to remember. It just gets easier and easier.

I don't even remember who won the survivor before the all star, but I can't help but remember Rupert.

Sandra won Survivor 7 (from whence Rupert came from, season-wise).

My wife knows I really enjoy Survivor so at the end of the last season she comes home with a 'surprise' for me.

It was a tie died shirt with Rupert on the front and it said Got Fish?

I think my heart actually stopped as I pictured myself having to wear it. I had to break it to her gently that I couldn't even wear it around the house.

Of course you need a TiVo. Everyone needs a TiVo. In fact you need a DirecTiVo if you're able to get satellite. You'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Recap:

Spoiler:
The men underwent a tribal initiation, where a live pig was slaughter in front of the men and women. Then the men and women were split into gender-specific tribes. The women tribe name is Yasur, and the men tribe name is Lopevy.

The challenge was of the combo reward/immunity variety (flint was the reward), and the women came out on top when Chris could not make it over a balance beam portion of the challenge.

Surprisingly, Chris did not get the boot, no, the older guys coalesced and booted out one of the physically stronger guys, which was Brook.

I don't remember Survivor casting so many buxom female contestant in one season. Yowza! Also, there are quite a few pretty boy males, but enough gruffer guys in the mix.

Quite a few pretty boy males?

I'd say John K. and Brady fit that category, but the other 7 didn't seem to.

Spoiler:
Good Golly Miss Polly! Seeing her crawling across that balance beam was a beautiful thing.
