I think the real thing we should be discussing are those creepy Burger King commercials where the Burger King crawls in bed with that guy.

Jesus God, that makes me cringe.

I don't think I'll ever eat there again.

before they announce drama series, I just wanna say one thing.

If West Wing wins, I will lose all hope in the Academy that I have left.

My bad - the cast of that show has been shoved down our throats for so long now I could have sworn she won an Emmy.

Arrested Development.

It would be an inexcuseable disgrace. That it got nominated this year essentially invalidates the awards anyway.

Arrested Development.

actually, none of the actresses have won before. Always being outsmarted by that darn Doris Roberts.

The show has won comedy once. Far from what I would call shoved down our throats.

unlike, say, The West Wing.

exactly.

No Six Feet Under in contention this year, no Nip/Tuck, The Wire, Deadwood etc. etc. etc. etc.

I did like the David Chase observation about Tony Soprano shaking hands with Michael Corleone.

Just because it has only won Comedy once doesn't mean it hasn't been shoved down our throats, but you're right - it's much worse when it comes to the West Wing.

Nice use of Coldplay and Interpol when they were announcing the nominees this year.

I understand what you mean, but I believe that shows like Everybody Love Raymond, Friends, Will & Grace are the tops.

S&TC is nowhere near.

Especially after they let Meryl Streep pause for about thirty seconds between every sentence she spoke.

It was kinda funny, 'cause the mic wasn't off and he thought it was.

Biggest Surprise (BAD): Alison Janney

Biggest Surprise (GOOD): Arrested Development (even though my heart goes out to CYE.)

No Surprise: Angels in America sweep.
