I understand what you mean, but I believe that shows like Everybody Love Raymond, Friends, Will & Grace are the tops.
S&TC is nowhere near.

I was about to throw those into the fray, too.

(actually, that show won after it was cancelled, I think)
That being said, good to see AD win.

Amy Acker, Clancy Brown, and Michael J. Anderson were robbed. All three at least deserved nominations.
I was also pissed that, during the ending shows montage, they didn't include "Angel." They should've shown the final scene with the "slay the dragon" line.
At least Carnivale picked up Emmys for Art Direction, Cinematorgraphy, Costumes, Hairstyling, and Main Title Design, and was nominated for Outstanding Casting and Makeup.

I'm happy Arrested Development & Spader won. Hopefully the win will buy Arrested some time like it did The Amazing Race, but this is Fox we're talking about so that's only a dream.
Atleast they didn't reward The West Wing or CSI for their craptastic seasons last year, though Allison Janney winning for lead actress was a definite

Thanks everyone - I just spent the last 10 minutes reading through this entire thread, which saved me several hours of watching award-show nonsense. I particularly enjoyed seeing das monkey jump in and spasm every few posts.

Well, even though the WB (the HBO of network tv) is shut out of the Emmys every year, at least they got their K-mart commercials shown. Take that, bitches!
P.S. Congrats to GG for winning one of the only 2 noms WB got.

Jesus God, that makes me cringe.
I don't think I'll ever eat there again.

I had to do a double-take to realize that was Kathryn Morris when I turned back to the Emmys during a commercial on Sunday Night football on ESPN. Kathryn looked muy caliente tonight!

What did Meryll Streep say
What did Meryll Streep say about Emma Thompson? I went to get a snack and missed most of her speech. I only heard her say that Thompson was going to hold a grudge against her. And I saw a couple of people in the audience with their mouths wide open. Like this:

Expected: Angels In America to win it all, and I'm thrilled about it.
Not Expected: Arrested Development to win the big one plus other awards, and I'm ecstatic about it.
The best choices by the academy in years, in my opinion.
Granted, it wasn't difficult considering Angels was just about one of the best things that has ever been on television.

I usually watch some or all of the Emmy Awards, but not this year. This crop of nominees was almost comical, highlighted by Ian McShane not being nominated. I had no interest in it this time around. I do wish I could've seen the Dead People Montage though.

Anyone find out (from reports or press releases) just what it was that James Gandolfini wanted to say or who he wanted to acknowledge before he got cut off?
The band should have been lynched last night...who cares if they would have went 1/2 hour over...it's an awards show! At the very least give them 60 seconds - some of these people were given about 10 seconds! To allow Pacino to ramble for about three minutes, then cut off Streep made no sense.
Funniest moment of the night for me was actually a taped bit - David Douchovny arriving at Shandling's house:
"I brought my ping pong paddle"
"I don't have a table"
"I know!" [smack, smack!]

Anybody else think Meryl Streep looked liked somebody's grandmother?
I know she's not supposed to be hot but jeez her entire look is so outdated. She still has that hair style that looks like something your 65 year old unmarried aunt would have.
And does she EVER stop acting?
Gawd, what an annoying person she must be to live with.
