Yeah, where the hell are Nip/Tuck and The Shield from that list?

Shit, now I see Chappelle's show was nominated in the Variety category. This is tough. Conan deserves it just because he's been screwed over so many times in the past, but Dave's show certainly has been great this season.

I heard you the first time. Still a ****ing disgrace that the two best shows on TV (The Wire and The Shield) and two of the Top 10 (American Dreams and Nip/Tuck) didn't get a single nod. Toss in the fact that Six Feet Under doesn't qualify this year, and the Emmys are pretty much a **** You to quality dramas.

I only mentioned the absence of major nominations. I had to go back and check the whole list to see if it got any. Nip/Tuck got 5 in minor categories.

Chappelle's show was some of the funniest programming this last season. I hope he gets it.

And SNL nominated in the same category with Chappelle, Daily Show, Conan, and Letterman? Man, they must've been just trying to fill the category.

At least Penn & Teller got a couple of noms for Bullshit. Interesting that they now have separate categories for Reality Programming and Reality-Competition Programming.

I must say that this years nominations are both terrible and predictable. It seems that wherever there was a fresh new choice, they opted instead to nominate the same old people/shows. Don't get me wrong, some of them truly deserved to be nominated, but did we really need to see all of the nominations for Sex & The City and The West Wing?

Also, I was very disappointed not to see Liza Minelli as a nominee for Best Guest Actress on a Comedy Series, and I was also disappointed in the lack of noms for Nip/Tuck. Thank god Frasier, Friends, and Sex & The City will all be off the air next year so that will free up tons of nominations.

S1 was eligible. Not S2.

I really don't give much more than a crap for any awards show outside of the Academy Awards. But I have a few that jumped out.

Penn & Teller Bullshit! for reality series. Will they say the name?

Brad Dourif for Supporting Actor for Deadwood.

Joan of Arcadia This was a decent show to start out with but went south about halfway through the season with repetition. It recovered a little in the final episode but I don't see how this was nominated over, say, Deadwood, L&O: SVU (which had a great season), Dead Like Me, Nip/Tuck etc. For that matter, I don't see how the others were nominated over these either.

Yes, he was. I couldn't find room on my list for him (let's face it, any of 10 guys are worthy of this honor), but I'd certainly enjoy seeing him win.

I forgot about him, too. In addition to him possibly winning, I would like to see Landau win for his guest appearance as Mr. Malone. I can still see Jack coming into his dad's room at the nursing home w/ a flat-top to make things easier on his dad.

SO glad to see "Friends" not nominated this year. Because the last two years royally sucked. And both Jennifer Anniston and Matt Leblanc should not be nominated either (imo). Did "Dead Like Me" not qualify for some reason?

Chris Rock- Never Scared????? This was the worst shit I have ever seen Rock associated with. It's like he was thinking, "Who cares if this stuff isn't up to snuff, they'll all suck my d*** anyway". Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

Chris (Michael Imperioli) and Adriana (Drea de Matteo) better win just for their work in Long Term Parking alone. The part in their home when she reveals her secret is the best acted scene I've seen in a very long long time.

0 nominations, even in minor catagories, for The Wire and The Shield. The Best Drama nominations are a complete joke.

Not that this in any way surprises me...

If you're asking me.....no. Thought it was awful. Technically I can see a nomination or two. And Rivero, I couldn't agree more about Chris Rock's special.

Based on these nominations, why would anyone watch this show?

Add me to the list of witnesses who saw Ian McShane get robbed.

Thumbs up to Michael Imperioli and Drea Mateo though. Especially Drea.

OK, obviously a lot of people aren't happy with some of the nominations but I wanted to add that I thought that Benito Martinez who plays David Aceveda on The Shield deserved a nomination for best supporting actor on a drama series.

He was simply outstanding this season.

Agreed. In fact, he was my winner in the post-your-Emmy-picks thread.

James Spader!

What a tough Best Actress in a Drama race! I'd LOVE to see Mariska Hargitay take it, though!
