Anybody got any clue on what was the meaning between his teeth falling out?? I've got two guesses and I'm sure they are way off
1. Him getting old
2. Dealing with his over-eating

Nice dream sequence, really liked the references to the gangster movies. I knew he was going to reach for a gun in the bathroom when I saw the box above the toilet. I'm pretty sure the Annette Benning appearance was a reference to the film Bugsy.

I thought the episode was FANTASTIC. This show has often featured Tony's bizarre dreams, so even though this one went on a bit long, it's nothing new. (He was tortured with a dream that told him Big ***** was a rat and had to be killed, for example.)
I guess he now feels he has to kill Tony B., his own cousin, because he's creating chaos between Little Carmine & Johnny Sack (and between Johnny Sack & Tony). Tony B. was stupid and got spotted and did it all behind Tony's back, and now it's all coming to a head.
I don't necessarily agree that Tony S. has to kill Tony B, but apparently that's his only option if he wants to have peace again w/Johnny Sack.
I thought the dream was fantastic, brilliant, and original. One of the best of the season.

Ok... I just finished watching one of the most bizare hours of TV in a long time. But I have a theory behind it...
IMO, this episode was planned out, written & possibly even shot back when everyone thought this would be the last season. This was a way to say goodbye to all the ex-cast members they could find. (Not really sure where David Proval was though) I mean, come on, if this wasn't a "good-bye" episode, what possible reason would there be to have John Fiore in the backseat for the few seconds he was there?
I could be way off but that's what I thought. They just threw the Tony B. plot into it to make it kind of realivent to the season.
Oh and I do see a huge war brewing...

Pretentious episode. What makes it even sadder is that people are going to spend the next ten years poring over every minute detail of the dream for the hidden meaning. Oooh!
I enjoyed the non-dream parts of the episode. I guess that calls my intelligence into question, right?

Anyone know if that really was "Ralphie"? The credits rolled fast but I didn't think it said Joe Pantoliano. Just wondering...
I'm bummed Tony feels he has to kill Tony B., his own cousin who just finished ALL that time in the jug. What about Adriana?? SHE's the one how should be about to go...

Was the coach played by the same guy who was "horseface" on The Wire? His appearance was bugging me since he looks so familiar, but can't recall if he was ever killed on the show.

as for the teeth falling out...i've had those dreams more than a few times...they are relatively common. here's a couple of takes on it, with some bolding that seems appropriate for why Tony would be having them...ultimately i just think it's common to people with anxiety issues:
I regularly dream that my teeth are falling out. I've heard that this is quite a common dream and would like to know what it means. Can you explain?

This classic dream has a number of interpretations. It can literally mean that you are frightened of losing your teeth. It can show the beginning of a new phase of life just as we lose our teeth when we pass from early childhood and head towards adulthood. You may be worried about your self image or the dream may signify unexpressed anxiety.

Dreams About Teeth
Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap. Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?
One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.
Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.
Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

Fantastic episode, third best only to Pine Barrens and the Godfatheresque first season finale. It really did seem like that should be last episode of the series material. As Tony lays dying, he thinks back over all he has done. I think the last season will be a barn burner and most everyone ends up dead.

Tony S sure does find himself paying a lot of hospital bills, doesn't he? After a season of seeing Valentina only peripherally, tonight she gets more than one line of dialogue and then gets the flambe' treatment. Nice...

I have a quick theory on why AJ replaced Finn in the dream. I didn't record it, so I'm just going on memory, but I think Tony asks if Finn is ever going to amount to anything and Carmella says no. They immediately cut to AJ. I think that is just Tony's fear of AJ being a failure.
Also, the whole dream was just Tony's subconscious getting him ready to have to whack Tony B. Notice how they keep mentioning the "job" he had to take care of. The crowd even yells at Tony for not stopping the hit on Phil L. I'm sure he knew, even before Chris told him, what Tony B had been up to.

I don't know.
When Tony woke up to talk with Christopher the whore wasn't there, but her "do you want me to suck..." speach clearly mingled with his dream.
So parts of the episode not obviously unreal could have been dream sequences. We'll find out soon enough.

I figured this episode would totally polarize the audience. I thought it was fantastic. I do have a question, though. Was Finn's father represented in Tony's dream by the cop that Tony had on his payroll in season 1?
