I finished "To Dream In The City Of Sorrows" last week. It's nice to find out how
I just finished "The Shadow Within", and I've started on the first book of the Centauri Prime trilogy.
Not to hijack this thread, but I've been thinking about giving "Farscape" another try. One of the things that really got me hooked on B5 is the huge story arcs. Does "Farscape" do this as well?
I've also noticed at Netflix that the DVDs are in a strange order. (For example, disc one has episodes 1 and 7. Disc 2 has episodes 2 and 4. etc.) Is there a reason for this? Will the show still make sense in this order?

Yes, Farscape does that as well, although in different ways. It's not a massive 5-year arc or anything, but there is an ongoing story with lots of mini-arcs and plenty of "trilogies" mixed throughout. I've said this elsewhere, but whereas I'd recommend Babylon 5 to anyone who isn't a complete frellnik, Farscape will have a much more narrow audience. It's a brilliant show in many ways, but it's also very different from Babylon 5, and it demands quite a bit from its audience. It's also a special effects masterpiece, eclipsing every TV show I've ever seen and most feature films. It's a pretty remarkable show. I don't like it as much as Babylon 5, but it's up there. Give it a shot.
As for the DVDs, they're in production order instead of airdate for that first season. It's annoying but not a huge deal as those episodes aren't severely dependent on one another, and they have it correct for the rest of the discs. If you can watch them in airdate order, try; otherwise, it won't kill you.

I agree w/ das - though I like Farscape a lot more than B5 (better production/acting/make-up/effects etc.) - that and when Farscape tries to be funny, it actually is - unlike B5 *zoot*zoot*

Well if you want the Farscape discs from Netflix you might have to wait in line - I just started it myself last week. I'm watching them in airdate order which is a pain in the a$$ but what can you do.
Have fun with the Centauri Prime trilogy and be sure to read the Psi Corp trilogy as well if you haven't yet.

I liked Season 5 of Babylon 5 a lot more the second time (when watching the DVD box set) than I did when it was first on TNT.
It may not be up to the level of seasons 3 & 4, but it definitely surpasses season 1 and is as good as the best seasons of Deep Space Nine (IMO). It's kind of sad the way the characters each depart the station for the last time towards the end of the season - it's clearly the end of the show and the last 3 or so episodes were all about wrapping it up. "Sleeping In Light" is one of the greatest episodes the series ever had, and arguably one of the best episodes ever on TV. Arguably.
It brings to mind the disappointment I felt when TNT cancelled Crusade before they even "aired" it. It made the end of B5 that much more final.
I would really love to see something new from the B5 universe, but I'm not holding my breath.

Expert needed to solve timeline issue
Babylon 5 expert needed to answer the following possible timeline error? I don't guess I should worry about spoilers considering how long the show has been off the air.
But all the same;
In the book "To Dream in the City of Sorrows", it is eluded in the end that Sinclars fiance travels back in time with him to live happily ever after. However in the comic book series (the one with Sheridan, Garibaldi, Delenn and Ivanova, again [yawn] find Babylon 4 in the present) it is stated that Sinclair left Minbari after the Shadow war in fear that his children from his Minbari! Wife (can't be Sakai) would be in danger because of their half human (how do they know humans existed at this time?) side?
