I watched it when it originally aired. Great show. Fantastic writing, wonderful acting. One of the smartest shows in a long, long time. I hated to see it cancelled.

I adored the show and was so frustrated by its disappearances, and by my friends: "Freaks and What? A show about high school? Whatever."

I watched it. They always would screw with the schedule and put on reruns when it was supposed to be new and move the time and day without running adds saying it was moved. It was also as bad as what Fox did the Futurama (yeah, the post football 7pm is the perfect spot, much better than the 9:30 slot that went to the revolving "this show will be gone in 3 weeks")

Any chance of a return or F&G or Undeclared? The characters on F&G probably mostly look the same I presume, but they probably have other obligations or perhaps pregnant.

I watched all the episodes on DVD this week and was blown away. Never watched it on TV though- I would have watched it if they didn't have the stupid network logo on every scene- I think they had the Olympics symbol on all the time too! I can't watch anything with on-screen crap. Looks like there were tons of commercial interruptions too.
It was much better seeing all the shows straight through too instead of having to wait a week, after the last one I still want more though!

If you want to know what happened to some of the characters, I hope you bought the "Special Edition".

On Disc 7, there is an Easter Egg where Martin Starr (Bill) and John Daley (Sam) do a commentary in character over some deleted scenes. They chat about what they are doing now (they're college age) and what some others are doing. It's very cool.

I loved the show. I love it (and miss it) even more having watched the DVDs.

we watched it every week and also taped all the episodes when Fox Family Channel played them.

Every week I was amazed at the music choices the show had. I went to HS during that exact time so it felt very real to me.

Easily one of my top five shows.

The book that comes with the cheapo DVD set says "Whatever you want to have happened to them, happened."

I never missed an episode when it first aired. Great show, fresh and very entertaining. It's one of the VERY few TV shows I looked forward to coming to DVD.

Got the dvd today(was just released here in Canada) and its just as great as i remembered it.Looking forward to seeing all the episodes again especially the ones that weren't originally aired

I made a rare blind purchase on this series a couple of months ago. However, I just got around to watching it a couple days ago. WOW! What a great show. I have seen the first 8 episodes so far, and LOVE this show. Already, I believe this to be one of the greatest TV shows I have ever seen. It is so well done. Probably the best mix of comedy and drama of any show that I can recall. Anyways, i will shut up now about it. If anyone is on the fence of whether or not to pick up, I say definitely get it. Later

This is a very good show, and anyone who went to high school in the 80's [or probably in the last 30 years] will be able to relate, to both the characters and the storylines. I haven't made it through too many episodes; in part because there are only 18 or so, and they're so good, I want them to last
One thing I liked is that the kids looked and acted 'real', not like actors [90210 was of course horrible about this, and I just started watching Buffy S1, and I'm getting an actor vibe from most of them.]

I keep wanting to pick it up as a "blind buy" but the price keeps me away. On the low end $45. Quite pricy for a blind buy.

Well, it's now available on the Columbia house tv club website, so if you go to the dvd clubs forum you can figure out a good code to use and how to get a really good deal on the set.

I blind bought the Yearbook Edition at $120 and have no regrets. Awesome show.

When I think back on all the tv shows I've enjoyed, I would trade any of them to be able to have had 5+ seasons of this show.

Actually, since the set is sale for $40 or so at CH, it makes a great "fulfillment" title.

Does anyone know if this F&G set has the "Grateful Dead" episode? It didn't air when NBC was carrying the show. The episode involves the guidance counselor lending the main character a copy of "American Beauty" record. She ends of getting coerced by her hippy friends to go on tour with the Dead instead of going to summer camp.
