Re: Freaks and Geeks Reunion Photo Shoot

Loved this show. Probably the only canceled show I've watched that still bothers me that it never saw a 2nd season.

Too bad Vanity didn't put F&G on one of their 3 Judd covers. Probably would've bought one.

Re: Freaks and Geeks Reunion Photo Shoot

Definitely one of the best shows ever made, IMO. And definitely better than Undeclared ever was.

I think the show would have been a hit if it premiered around the aughts.

This show and American Dreams were two great period shows that just never made it. At least American Dreams lasted three seasons.

Nah, I saw your post (only way I knew it originally aired on Saturdays). I meant I don't remember if Saturday at that point was a slot that people stayed home to watch tv. Maybe it never was.

Wait, what?
They dated for 5 years...the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall was loosely based on their relationship. They have not really been seen together publically since the break up.

I've actually seen Busy Phillips walking around LA streetfest and Martin Starr at bars on Sunset.

Anyone pick up the latest issue of Vanity Fair? Are all the F&G photos and interviews in the mag, too? I know some sites have content that's exclusive only to the web or hard copy.

Re: Freaks and Geeks Reunion Photo Shoot

Big fan of F&G and last night I decided to check out Undeclared.
I never saw it's initial run so thought I would see how it went up against F&G
I'm on Ep.7 on Netflix and so far I'm enjoying it. It's a shame shows like this didnt last. So much better than what TV has to offer today ...

I saw it during its first run on FOX and I saw it again when it was on IFC last year and wondered why I even liked the show. Granted Monica Keena and Carla Gallo are really hot, and I like the cast but it's a pretty pale imitation of Freaks and Geeks.

I bought it at Costco the other day. LOVE F&G and Undeclared too, but less.

What's in the mag is also online. Lots more online to check out too.

Re: Were There Any Fans of NBC's "Freaks and Geeks?"

Just finished the series on Netflix.

Every time I read an article or something about TV shows that were cancelled too early, F&G is usually mentioned. Now I know why. Excellent series.

This is easily the most accurate portrayal of high school life I've ever seen on TV or in the movies.
No caricatures or cliches, just great performances by mostly likable actors doing terrific characters. I can see why most of the cast has gone on to greater success and fame.

I'm actually a little depressed now that it's over.

Obviously there weren't enough to not get cancelled.

Anyone ever make a 'future' for one of the characters? When I watched it and the final episode had Cardinelli's character get on a bus and leave. I turned to friends and said "and she was never heard from again..."

I read an interview with writer Paul Feig, and he had envisioned season 2 opening with Lindsay rushed to the ER from a Grateful Dead concert due to ingesting whatever drug, and now has to face her family and somehow win back their trust and respect.

I watched it when it first aired. I really liked it a lot because it captured what I remember growing up in that time.

Re: Newest Freaks and Geeks fan

Just decided to check out this series and am so glad I did. I graduated in 87 so I identified with a lot of the episodes. Loved all the characters and really felt that I was just watching high school kids, not actors. My favorite character was Kim Kelly. Sorry this series didn't last.

Re: Newest Freaks and Geeks fan

It aired in a doomed timespot, something like Friday night or Saturday morning, also back when no one had a DVR.

Great show, but I thought it's sister show Undeclared was funnier.

Yeah I preferred Undeclared, though Marshall was kind of a weirdo.

Blind bought the set I guess about a decade ago and still haven't seen a single second of the show.

You are not alone. How many copies did this show sell on DVD based on fanboy hype? Surely a lot.

You guys are missing a great show.

Although, I can say the same about Arrested Development. Bought the set and haven't watched any. Have heard it's fantastic.
