This is where the post- Shadow war plot gets really interesting.

I know this is the season 4 discussion thread, but a quick heads up about season 5 spoilers. Those Babylon 5 Season 4 popup ads that have been showing up at various sites appear to have a season 5 spoiler. The ad is in the form of a question with multiple answers. It says it pertains to goings on in season 4, but unless me memory is unthinkably awful, the subject matter of the question has yet to take place. I tried to look away as soon as I realized that those nutty marketing folks at Warner Bros. screwed up, but this is what I remember:

Spoiler:
The question was something along the lines of, "in season 4, Byron and the other telepaths killed themselves because..." followed by four possible guesses". Needless to say, I was none too happy to read this.

BTW, the website where I saw this particular ad was dvdfile.

People who haven't seen Season 5 yet, do not read the following spoiler, and don't "quote" this post.

Spoiler:
This is a sad attempt to save this poor guy. Worth a shot? Play along?

dsw13, that must be some weird clerical error. Nothing like that really happens. Still, stay away from those damn ads.

It's possible that my recollection is a mishmash of the question and one of the possible answers

Spoiler:
It might have said something like how were Byron and his telepaths taken care of, and one of the choices was that they killed themselves for such and such reason.

Glad to see that I looked away fast enough to sufficiently confuse myself.

I'm not even sure what they would be getting at, but I wouldn't worry about it. You're in good shape.

So, where in Season 4 are you right now?

Finsihed it last night. Now I can finally flip over that other dvd I bought and watch "In the Beginning". I've been looking forward to doing that for awhile now. After reading some negative comments, I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed the season finale. Interesting stuff.

I just finished "Endgame", and I'm looking forward to teh last two eps and then "In The Beginning".

And then the long wait until April 13.

I hear ya. I think I might wait another month before watching "In the Beginning" so as to ease the withdrawl (who am I kidding, I'm sure I'll break down by this weekend). I've managed to avoid the wait thus far, as I didn't start watching until December. I never thought I'd tear through them this quickly (having time off around the holidays made it easier). Once it became apparent that I was moving along so fast, I actually tried to time it out perfectly so that I watched the Season 3 finale the night before Season 4 came out. Then I couldn't find Season 4 until two days later. Sometimes the best laid plans... Anyways, I'm hoping that Buffy will fill the void.

We must live parallel lives. I, too, will watch Buffy to pass the time waiting for B5:S5.

Nah, we just read the same forums and, consequently, are led down the same paths .

I have managed to download all Season 5 episodes and am in the process of downloading all the Crusade episodes. I guess I don't plan on getting sleep for a while considering I have the movies as well. Curse you das!

Today's Episode: "The Illusion of Truth"

ISN sends a team to do a second story about Babylon 5.
Psi Corps presumably now knows the fate of the telepaths; two of their names are plainly visible behind Randall (see Notes.) Will the Corps try to come after them? What about the allies of the Shadows, who may have some interest in the telepaths' implants? If Shadow ships were left behind (not unlikely, considering there were lots of them buried underground) they'll need pilots who've gone through the proper preparation ("Messages From Earth") and the telepaths are ready-made candidates.

Garibaldi seems to have turned against Sheridan completely, going so far as to allude to him as "the devil." Is that a direct result of his programming (or whatever was triggered by the message in "Epiphanies") or is there some other reason?

ISN's new title sequence reflects the provincial, Earth-centric views of the Clark government: after a flight through space, the sequence ends up centered on Earth and the Moon.

Did anyone NOT see that one-sided report coming a mile away?

True. But, the fun was watching how they twisted things.

Oh the media at work, isn't it refreshing. Yes it was obvious that the story would be horribly one-sided but kinda interesting to see just how ISN could twist everything around. I thought the ending of the episode was perfect: no words just be pissed in silence.

Yeah, that ending was great. I wouldn't have been surprised if Sheridan put his fist through the monitor.

Pretty one sided but, all things considered, it could have been much worse. For example, at least Randall did slip in that Sheridan's father was missing and not in custody. He could have let Sheridan believe differently. He also portrayed Sheridan as a war hero suffering from psychological problems rather than just as some power monger hell bent on taking over earth.

That possible spoiler

I came across it again and cut and paste exactly what it said. Have not looked at it any closer than last time, but was tipped off by seeing a certain character's name in the question.

Spoiler:
In the 4th season, Byron and his faction of militant telepaths kill themselves to avoid:

A deadly plague
Getting rid of their powers
Capture by Psi Corps

OK, what part of "stay away from those damn ads" did you not understand?

Sorry, couldn't help myself. When it seemed like I was completely off base, I was determined to find the one that dealt with that character. I really didn't read it though (it was one of those look away while doing a cut and paste), and don't have any more knowledge than I did when I first posted it. I will, however, avoid all such ads in the future.

Today's Episode: "Atonement"

Delenn is recalled to Minbar to resolve a problem concerning her relationship with Sheridan, and must finally face up to her role in the Earth-Minbari War. Sheridan sends Marcus and Franklin to Mars on a secret mission.
Callenn's horror at the prospect of human DNA mingling with Minbari genes parallels the newscast in "The Illusion of Truth," which attempted to suggest that Delenn and Sheridan wanted to introduce Minbari genes into humans. In fact, just the opposite has occurred.

Delenn feels responsible for the Earth-Minbari War. Her father committed suicide, heartbroken over the war ("Grey 17 Is Missing.") Does Delenn thus feel personally responsible for her father's death?

Did Dukhat know Valen was part human? Callenn was aware of it; was it common knowledge among the Grey Council after Sinclair was interrogated and the triluminary indicated his relation to Valen? ("And the Sky Full of Stars")

Ivanova is likely still the leader of half the Drazi on Babylon 5. She wore the green leader's sash to the party. Presumably the fact that all the formerly green Drazi are now wearing purple ("The Geometry of Shadows") didn't cause any problems.

I'm kind of surprised that the Lurker's guide doesn't consider this one to be a WHAM episode. There was some pretty interesting stuff about Delenn.

The actor who played Dukhat did a tremendous job. He made the character larger than life, a religious, rational, practical and practically irreplacable leader. By the end of the episode I was really sorry that he wasn't going to be a regular character.

Now that I've finished Season 4, I can go watch "In The Beginning", where I assume I'll see more of him.

Well, that didn't take long

Unfortunately, it makes the wait for Season 5 all the longer.
