I was actually surprised at how much I was laughing at it, whether it was scripted or not.
I do agree, though- Nicole seems much more down to earth than Paris.
...and I think they're both hot!

However, Fox still manages to make Hilton and Richie look worse.

I have to admit I found myself laughing aloud more than once during this show. Nicole I don't find attractive, but I do think Paris is kind of cute. Obviously her personality is out there, but I still think the show is fun.
I will keep tuning in to see what happens.

CBS began the night in first with "JAG," which pulled down an 8.9/10. ABC had a slim advantage for second in total viewers with "A Charlie Brown Christmas," but FOX was in a dead heat with "That 70s Show" (5.1/8) and the impressive 8.1/12 debut for "The Simple Life" (the Paris Hilton-Nicole Richie reality entry was also the night's highest rated program among adults 18-49).

I didn't see the show, but the Walmart line reminded me of an episode of Rich Girls, when Hilfinger's daughter and her friends were talking about how they wear cargo pants as a fashion statement, but people in the Midwest wear them because they need all the pockets while they are working in the fields.

I can't stand the show Rich Girls. Stupid A$$ spoiled girls complaining about nothing. Hilfinger's friend looks like Joey Fatone w/ a wig.
I find Paris unattractive too. Not just her looks, but her personality as well. At least Nicole seems more down to earth.
Paris: "There's no Reverse gear in this truck!"

I knew about Paris and her sister who seem joined at the hip. They were/are always hanging around celebrities. I had no idea who they were though. The shows called them heiresses but that didn't ring a bell. Then I thought about their last name and I was like "DUH!"

somebody give Paris a few cheeseburgers!
I think the family's lil boy (Braxton I think) is adorable. He was funny w/ the fly swatter in the girls' porch.... I mean room.

We didn't mind the first show, but the second one was pretty bad. It seemed like the pace was just screwy and almost came to a stop several times. It's just not funny seeing the same kind of humor over and over again, when it's not really that funny in the first place. Are their parent's proud of their girls when they see this? Or is it just another way of them showing the world how much better their lives are? My wife and I also thought it was Paris, not Nicole, that seemed to have a more "soft" and "kind" side, mostly hidden by all the narcissism. But, aside from being dull and shallow, we noticed it was from the people from the Real World, so we kind of wondered if most of this is just staged in the first place as was brought up in earlier posts.
Paris is kind of attractive, but it's hard to really tell because she's so in love with herself that its hard to get past that. I have seen pictures of her with her hair shorter and she looks much better.
I doubt we'll tune in again if the 3rd show is as boring as the 2nd was. I'm wondering if other people felt the novelty wore off really quickly.

I tuned into the first show simply because Altus is about a 40 minute drive from where I live. It was about what I expected it to be except the first show at least didn't seem to make as much fun of "Arkansas hicks" as I thought it would. A few funny moments, but Paris, especially, was so annoying that I doubt I'll bother tuning in again.
