NCIS -- 2 Part Season Finale -- "Patriot Down" -- 05/18/10

NCIS

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Part 1 of 2. The team investigates a colleague's murder, and a link to the crime surprises Gibbs.

I figured I would do an NCIS thread since it's a 2 part episode going into next week's season finale.

Special Guest Stars:
Rena Sofer
Richard Burgi

NCIS has alot of issues going into the upfronts. Mark Harmon, Cote de Pablo, Rocky Carroll and David McCallum are the only ones signed on to next season.

Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray are all unsigned and looking for new deals. Cote de Pablo is trying to re-negotiate her deal.

Considering NCIS is still one of the top shows, CBS would be smart to do all they can to keep the cast together.

I'm sure they will all get signed before they start filming again in summer. From everything that I have read, the network is trying to lowball them on negotiations.

So who is the mastermind who's going after Gibbs? Is it just that cartel and the T-1000 was working for them?

Re: NCIS -- 2 Part Season Finale -- "Patriot Down" -- 05/18/10

Just an FYI, if you are watching the NCIS Season Finale on Tuesday, you absolutely have to watch this episode.

I spent the last 2 1/2 weeks getting caught up on NCIS and finally watched this episode tonight. Thought it was a pretty good opening episode to the season finale, but got really complex. They tried to squeeze in so much. The episode did fill in a hole on what happened to Lara Macy (who was played by Louise Lombard) If you don't remember her, she was introduced in the NCIS: LA backdoor pilot The Legend part 1 and 2 last year. She ran the LA team before Haddie.

Let's see what they are trying to cover:
1) The murder of Macy
2) The rape of the Navy officer
3) Col. Burton (Robert Patrick's character) who is now dead
4) Burton's Goon Dean who killed Burton and is now in Mexico and captured Gibbs
5) The lawyer Hart who hid information about Burton and Dean
6) Abby struggling with the evidence that implicates Gibbs in the murder of the drug dealer
7) Some mastermind who is after Gibbs (presumably Burton, who is now dead)
8) Mike Franks is somehow back in the mix?

That's alot of shit to cover in over 40 minutes. And now Hart sort of has the hots for Gibbs. Hopefully the finale has some kind of satisfying resolution to this monstrosity of a story arc.

NCIS -- Season Finale -- "Rule Fifty-One" -- 05/25/10

NCIS

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Gibbs heads to Mexico to face his demons and make a startling decision, on the seventh season finale of NCIS.

NCIS Season Finales have normally been pretty good. The last episode (Part 1) of this finale was really really busy. Hopefully it's a satisfying episode.

Re: NCIS -- Season Finale -- "Rule Fifty-One" -- 05/25/10

This was a good yet, really busy episode like the last one.

Question, did Vance actually send Tony to Mexico to assassinate Rivera? At first, I didn't think so, but once Franks stopped him and then said, "It's okay Probie, I got it from here" and pulled out his gun, then that led me to believe so. It was cool that Vance picked up on Gibbs' problem during their heated argument.

I guess I understand what the episode title of Rule Fifty-One means "Sometimes your Wrong" I assume at the end Gibbs was reflecting that he was wrong for how he handled the case and that he took jutice in his own hands.

Didn't expect to see Ralph Waite at the end, since it was an uncredited appearance. Interesting cliffhanger going into next season.

I don't think he sent Tony to assissinate Rivera cuz Gibbs would never ask someone else to kill for him. I think Tony was just watching him. But I do think that Franks will kill Rivera.

NCIS -- Season Premiere -- "Spider and the Fly" -- 09/21/10

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
By djariya at 2010-09-21

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
In the eighth-season opener, the Reynosa cartel tries to hurt Gibbs by going after those he loves, and Gibbs must take extreme steps to protect them from harm.

Hard to believe this is in it's 8th season and coming off it's highest Nielsen ratings ever last season. Pretty much the entire cast signed multi-year contract extensions this summer. So, this show isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

This is a continuation from last season's season finale.

Muse Watson returns as Mike
Ralph Waite returns as Gibbs father.

The Autopsy Gremlin joins the cast photo! Does this mean Brian Dietzen is in the main credits?

Re: NCIS -- Season Premiere -- "Spider and the Fly" -- 09/21/10

I always liked Pimmy Jalmer, I hope he gets into the main credits.

For some reason I wasn't feeling the whole cartel getting back at Gibbs storyline. In theory it sounds like a really solid story arc but I just didn't like it very much. I liked the storyline with Ziva/Tony/Rivkin, but otherwise thought the last few seasons were just OK.

I liked the first two, and thought the the 3rd, 4th, and 5th were very good.

I missed the text message to Vance at the end. Who was it from and what did it say?

From Eli Dhavid: I found him

must be setting up the next storyline. That's Ziva's dad who Director Vance took the call from saying he will have to call later and Gibb's didn't "need to know"

Did you see the episode last year when they were escorting a witness home on the airplane? They couldn't seem to get their story straight who slept where.

NCIS -- The 8th season thread -- Tuesday's on CBS

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
By djariya at 2011-01-01

Synopsis for Worst Nightmare 9/28/10:

Spoiler:
The team searches for a kidnapped girl, whose grandfather complicates the investigation.

Going to be doing a season thread for NCIS. It's still a funny and quirky procedural and one of my favorites on CBS, but there isn't enough continuing story week to week to make it worth doing weekly threads. Occasionally there is a good episode worth talking about, so this will be the thread of record. If I don't bump this up, please do a search and bump it up.

Re: NCIS -- The 8th season thread -- Tuesday's on CBS

Decent enough episode tonight but I have to wonder how the future of the series will go. What I mean is, the show can only go as far as Mark Harmon is willing to stay on. While a show like CSI has kept afloat without Petersen (despite the ratings drop for which most shows have also declined), I cannot see how NCIS can survive even if they manage to replace Harmon.

Anyway, as for the episode (I think I'm going to rate them, why not), I give it a 7.5/10. Better than most shows but a tad below what I expect from NCIS.

Which is several more years, if Harmon's contract and recent statements are to be believed. Rumors that he's leaving appear to be the product of fans' overreaction to a cryptic tease by Shane Brennan.

Never heard the rumors of him leaving, actually, just my thoughts of what would happen with the show if he chose to leave down the road.
