Re: NCIS -- The 8th season thread -- Tuesday's on CBS
Ah, well never paid attention to that. Just a question I was throwing out there as Harmon is very important to the series, even more so than Peterson on CSI. While the ratings have dropped for that show, it's also dropped on other series including competitor Grey's Anatomy and is staying afloat thus far.

I think your probably right considering the entire setup of the show is gibbs-centric, but personally I don't think the show would be fatally injured if he left. I enjoy the reactions and interactions of the other characters to his persona, but I'm not a big fan of the character himself.
PS. Someone get Sean Murray a sandwich.

I liked the first part, but I didn't care for the flashback heavy second half. I felt like they were really setting up a good storyline with the Israeli team and the terrorists then they just kind of dropped it. Granted it wasn't really new territory for the show, but I was enjoying it.

NCIS still remains CBS's most consistently watchable shows. Thumbs up to Leon for knifing the Guy who upped his morphine drip.

Bump
New episode tonight "False Witness"
Synopsis:
The special guest star is Annie Wersching (Renee Walker on 24)
Thought this might be a worthy mention since we haven't seen much of her post-24 death.

Did anybody else catch the Zoolander-ish "Blue Steel" face DiNozzo made when they were leaving the dance club in the Jan 11th episode? I got a good laugh out of that. If anyone has a still of that, please post.

My source isn't HD, combined with the club lighting in that scene made for a pretty crappy screengrab:

I found this ep extremely boring. Neither the case of the week nor any of the regulars' storylines were that engaging.

Thanks! It was a pretty bland episode. In fact, even though I watched the whole thing, I'm not sure I could tell you how it ended. The face is not all that funny now that I'm looking at a freeze frame of it. It just happened so fast and was unexpected I laughed out loud. Looking at Ziva's reaction in that shot, it looks like it might have been spontaneous.

I missed some episodes at the beginning of the season, what happened to Vance to cause the limp and his need for a cane?

Re: NCIS -- The 8th season thread -- Tuesday's on CBS
He was ambushed when having a meeting with several heads of agencies. He knew something about a mission years ago involving the killing of some Russians. He was supposed to die then but Ziva's father helped to save him. The guy that set the plot in motion changed tactics when this happened and had Gibbs eliminate the Russian that was supposed to kill Vance.

Not that anyone should be surprised by this given NCIS' insane ratings this season (23M on Tuesday), but CBS renewed it today for a 9th season. Mark Harmon signed a new 2-year contract, so he will be with the show through season 10.

EDIT: According to that same article, Charlie Sheen makes $1.25 million an episode.
