As a poker player, I get really really tired of poker scenes in movies resulting in one extremely-rare hand being killed by an even more extremely-rare hand.

In this case, it was 4 queens beaten by a 6-high straight flush.

In casino royale, it was an aces-full full house beaten by a straight flush.

Other instances are out there, but I can't remember.

Ugh. I think I'll skip tonight's ep. Haven't watched Numbers in a couple of weeks anyway...

I thought the green theme worked pretty well here -- Delinda is such a flake, it's perfectly in character that she would spontaneously decide the Montecito needs to be more green and bug everyone about it. And I thought Cooper's "Hey, if you really want to be green, we could shut down the hotel" speech at the end was great.

I liked Cooper's speech but the green theme was very overdone nonetheless. In any case, I don't much care for Delinda-centric moments.

What the heck does the new chick do? It seems they have to bribe her every time she shows up.

I think she's a prostitute.

I fell asleep around 8:30 last night and missed it.

Thank goodness for the internets... I'll be able to catch it tonight if the stars (i.e. SWFs and FLVs) are aligned tonight.

After watching every episode since it debuted, I am officially out now. I gave Selleck's character a few weeks, but the show just isn't as entertaining without Ed.

"There are people who want to shut down my whole operation because my cows fart too much."

Line of the night.

I still find LV to be good Friday night entertainment. Since it's in it's last season (I can't see how it can survive), I'll stick with it to the end.

This whole Green Week was a horrible mess. And the LV episode was probably the worst. They really shoved that crap down the viewer's throat.

I felt like the Green Week was too preachy, and really took away something from my favorite shows. They should've been more subtle.

I love Piper's character, and really enjoy looking at her.

I'm starting to get annoyed with Delinda flipping on & off the professional relationship with Danny when she feels like it...and she's always a pain in the ass nowadays too. My sis-in-law is pregnant, so I'm already overloaded on bitchy pregnant chicks right now, no need to watch them on TV. LOL

Sam's gone back to being somewhat heartless, which I'm thrilled about (especially with her & Piper teaming up so often).

Mike, as a character, does what now? Bring back my Mike & Danny, Bumbling Duo friendship.

While I still enjoy the show quite a bit, it feels much less fun than in previous seasons. That's probably due to Danny, Delinda, & Mike finally acting like adults. It's still a beautiful show to watch in HD, but it definitely feels like its nearing the end. The formula is being abandoned (when was last music guest?). I hope I'm wrong though.

Show has that cancellation inevitability which happens when a key cast member leaves

E.g. John Ritter dying in 8 Simple Rules

British version of Coupling when Jeff left

Why did James Caan leave? I know how his character was written out but I'm wondering why the actor bowed out.

Depends on who you ask.. some say it was budget cuts, some say he wanted to return to film.

8 Simple Rules ran for longer without Ritter than it had with him. Coupling was driven by Steven Moffat, not by Richard Coyle. I don't think we would have seen a fifth season even had Coyle decided to stay.

And I don't think Las Vegas is going anywhere.

nowadays? She's always been a pain in the ass. I hated her before, now I complete loathe her, so it was only fitting that she be the one responsible for the "green" shit on this show. (I know Mike was rattling off some green shit, but that was to impress the waitress with the big boobs).

Sam continues to be a bright spot on this show for me (VM's stunning beauty makes it easy...)

Didn't mind Cooper. Wouldn't mind seeing more Gail. And, yeah, Mike & Danny should have more hi-jinks.

Oh, and i'm perfectly fine if "MIMS" is the final music guest...

I'm wondering if it will survive, since it is one of the very few shows that will have a full season.

Sometimes I feel like they rush through the scripts on LV, and now that we know the entire season has been filmed, I'm going to keep on assuming that is the case. I wonder how long it takes to film each episode of LV, 4-5 days at best?

This was an O.K. episode but it was way too preachy with the “Green” message. I think it wins for the worst (from what I’ve seen) NBC show “dealing” with the situation they were given.

I agree with what Patman says, a lot of the Las Vegas scripts this year seem rushed and it’s definitely showing. I know Las Vegas isn’t top notch programming, but this season I’m feeling that nothing story wise is happening. It just feels like absolutely nothing has happened since the first episode of the season. I don’t really like the whole Danny & DeLinda having a baby thing; it’s not that kind of show and I’m mystified why they went in that direction.

Also, they are horribly under using Tom Selleck. They always found something good to do with Caan (Ed) but so far the most interesting thing Cooper has done is smoke a cigar all the time.

Las Vegas -- "My Uncle's a Gas" -- 11/16/07

Spoiler:
Danny is finding his new job as President of Operations a bit challenging, while Mike keeps an extra eye on a competition in the casino that Cooper forces Sam to help with.

Personal comment:
Spoiler:
How many times has the Montecito been robbed now?
